Walking past the shop window I glimpsed her winking at me. This just before she stepped through the glass like it was a flimsy invisible membrane- like it was not there! She looked left, then right, ruffled her stiff wings and leapt towards the ocean- her toes dangling dangerously above the passing traffic. Within seconds she was a fading dot on the horizon. Her flight path? Her destination? I couldn’t even begin to speculate.
