I can safely state this is one of the most unique places in the USA. There is a thriving LGBT community, and by chance there was a festival going on this week. There is a giant monument to the Pilgrims that first discovered this country, which can be seen from everywhere. The tip of the state extends towards the west, then south, then east to Long Point, which is basically just one long beach. It's easier to take the ferry across than to walk it. The point partially floods with the high tide, and it was really cool to see that happen in real time. It was even more interesting to learn that it was the original settlement before they moved to Provincetown. Today, there is just a lighthouse and a cross on a hill, but people still love to go over there and get away from everything and just chill on the beach for the day.
