* Un golpe de Zoom, desde la “Cruz de los cuatro postes”, para tomar estos detalles de la Ciudad de Ávila. Castilla.
* Ávila posee los títulos de Ávila del Rey, otorgado por Alfonso VII; Ávila de los Leales, otorgado por Alfonso VIII; y Ávila de los Caballeros, otorgado por Alfonso X. Todos ellos presentes en la bandera de la ciudad. La seña de identidad es su muralla medieval completa, destacando también otras construcciones representativas como la Catedral del Salvador. Ha sido considerada tradicionalmente como ciudad de cantos y de santos y su casco histórico medieval, en excelente estado de conservación, fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad en 1985.
* Contemplando esta maravilla de ciudad y, al fondo, el cimorro de la catedral, rememoré una carta del poeta García Lorca a sus padres sobre esta ciudad, fechada en octubre de 1916…

Queridos padres: Estoy contentísimo, aquí la gente nos atiende una enormidad, y la ciudad es una joya del arte, es como si la edad media se hubiera levantado del suelo, palacios señoriales, las murallas están intactas y rodean toda la ciudad.
Los campesinos visten como antiguamente, las mujeres con las faldas enormes de anchas y de muchos colorines con grandes pañuelos de flores y preciosos aretes, los hombres, pantalón corto, chaquetilla corta y sombrero calañé. Hablan divinamente y están enormemente educados.
Como son fiestas de la Santa Madre Teresa de Jesús, aquí hay muchos de ellos y hemos hablado con muchos. Es de lo más interesante de Ávila.
Los monumentos son hermosísimos, todos son grandes recuerdos históricos…

Los colores de la primavera en la meseta. Tierras sembradas, otras ya aradas prepararadas, árboles en flor y viñas. El aroma del tomillo y la hierba buena, el canto de las alondras, todo invita a pasear por aquí.

Una foto che per me ha un valore speciale se non fosse altro per quei piedini che raccontano giá molto da soli :)
Immaginatevi una sala abbastanza grande illuminata da alcune finestre, ma la maggior parte dei monaci si trovano in una condizione di luce difficile. Sono seduti su piccole panche messe a ferro di cavallo.
Siamo nel tardo pomeriggio e i bambini si trovano tutti insieme, dopo le lezioni, per cantare le preghiere ad ALTA voce. Sono circa una trentina in un'etá compresa fra i 4 (!!!) e i 10-12 anni.
Ci sediamo in mezzo a loro per quasi un'ora e gli insegnanti ci offrono anche del thé e dei dolci tibetani.
Veniamo avvolti da una cantilena potente e in qualche maniera ipnotizzante creata dalle loro voci cariche di un'energia incredibile con la quale continuano imperterriti a recitare le preghiere per tutto il tempo della nostra permanenza.
Ho fatto molti scatti in questa occasione e col tempo ve li mosteró :)

The village of Salers, listed among the most beautiful villages of France, is 42 kilometres north of Aurillac in the Massif Central (Auvergne region) and is at the western edge of the Cantal volcanic region.
Salers has origins that can be traced back almost 1000 years ago, but it was during the boom years of the 15th century that much of the current town was constructed. Salers describes itself as 'a black diamond on a green carpet', a quite appropriate description, because of the dark grey volcanic stone used to build many of the beautiful buildings in the town..
It's also famous for its cattle & cheese

Un saluto cordiale ai miei contatti in Flickr che sto trascurando.
Sono in giro, dall'alba al tramonto...o quasi. Qui mi trovo nella zona degli alpeggi, con la mia bici preferita con la quale pedalo verso le montagne, attraverso boschi e prati e mi diverto un sacco! Quando passo nelle malghe acquisto prodotti caseari genuini e a casa me li gusto per cena. Praticamente passo la giornata all'aria aperta, in bici (o nello spazio verde intorno a casa) qualche volta mi fermo a riposare e a scattare qualche foto...che poi rimane mesi a dormire nella scheda di memoria.
"Carpe diem" cantava il poeta latino Orazio, ed io lo ascolto ed eseguo!
While in John Day Fossil Beds we visited Cant Ranch, a historically preserved farm that now doubles as a ranger office building. It was a very interesting area, and certainly beautiful but I was having trouble trying to find a composition that gave any kind of wow factor. The sun was low, and I wanted to work with that. I tried to use the house, the composition of light and shadow, and the sun breaking together. When I see a ranch I think early mornings and fresh air. I placed the sun over the house to evoke a feeling of sunrise and a fresh new day. The house is intended to evoke stability, formalism and the omnipresent force of routine that instills all farms. The light and the shadow is intended to represent the relationship between the promise and the peril of the farming business/lifestyle.
Anyway, I hope you (the viewer) got a fraction of that when you looked at it.
