A fun fact about the House Finch (Haemorhous mexicanus) is that they have a wide range of vocalizations and are excellent song mimics. They can imitate the songs of other bird species, as well as various human-made sounds like car alarms and cell phone ringtones. Male House Finches often incorporate these imitations into their repertoire to attract mates and establish their territory. So, if you hear a House Finch singing a medley of different tunes, it may not be just their own song but a delightful mix of imitations as well!

Lakshman Jhula, is a famous hanging iron bridge across Ganga, and is about 3 km from the main township of Rishikesh. As per mythological tales, once Lakshman, the younger brother of Lord Ram, crossed river Ganga at the same site where the bridge now stands. That bridge was made up of jute, though. Since then the bridge has been named as the Lakshman Jhula and is one of the most visited bridges by the tourists.
It offers some breathtaking views of the Ganges and more so on a clear day. I was not disappointed when I reached here. Mesmerizing sunset and the calmness of the river portray the serenity of Rishikesh.
And suddenly the honking of vehicles remind me that I am back in Bangalore!!

Har ki Pauri is considered to be the most sacred bathing ghat and is situated on the banks of the Ganges. It is a common belief that it serves as the exit point of the river from mountains to the plains.
A dip in the Ganges is considered a must by any devotee visiting Haridwar. Thus, I was not surprised when I saw thousands of people at the ghat when I reached here. It was not even 6 in the morning and the water was icy cold. The best I could manage was to just dip my feet. :) I perhaps have more sins to commit before I take a complete dip here..
