Plastic is often purely functional, but sometimes it can be pretty too. This tiny candy jar is only ¾" high when the lid is on. The white Forgot-me-nots are from my garden.

After work I went to the store to buy some fruit and vegetables to prevent my family and me from getting scurvy. ;-) Not only did I buy the much needed fruit and vegetables but also these fruit candies that the store strategically placed at the end of the checkouts. Clearly I got suckered into buying them as it was hard to resist the cute jar they came in and of course an opportunity to photograph them for today. It was either this or tulips, and the store didn't have any tulips in stock. :D

EVERTHING on the table is made out of LEGO. This includes: The gingerbread man & women, the rolling pin, the oven glove, the whisk, the candy jar and the measuring spoons.

None at all, actually, because they're resin! The tiny sweet (candy) jar is less than ¾" tall when it's standing upright with the lid on. I might need a larger one. :)

===========================

Saturday evening 11 April it was quiet in the city centre of The Hague, The Netherlands. Very quiet. Reason of course is the "stay home" advice given by the Dutch government. So if I'm not going to encounter a lot of people in the evening I am going to take this opportunity to take some unusual photos. Putting my camera on tram rails for example. Something that normally is impossible, simply because in this street it never is quiet enough to pull this off. Little joys such as these give me pleasure during this corona crisis!

Hey everyone!

The candy table goes in the right direction :D

But I don't know where to find nor what fabric I'll get for the table. I thought yellow first, but now maybe white, or something striped? Or maybe I print something on fabric? aaah decisions!

And I also wonder if I should put the table in a wall+floor setting.

As you can see, I'm made of doubts ^^

Week 6 Artistic : Candy

A throwback to one of the favorite weeks of the original challenge. Your artistic inspiration this week is candy. Since this is the advanced challenge... you can't actually use candy in the scene.

Just fooling around with my new macro lens, gosh I love that lens, the pictures are crisp, it's easy to take them and the colors are right.

I'm in loooooove ^^

A glimpse of a print we sent out this year as a little Holiday thank you to our clients and vendors. This one is printed with mint green and gold inks. I'm hoping over the Holiday break to print this one again using pink and gold inks for the esty shop. Mmmm... I'm off to find some chocolate...

Sugar Skull Candy Jar

August 31, 2018

Dessert Table for my sister's wedding.

Key Lime Pie Shooters, Fruit Custard Tartlets, Pineapple-Coconut Cupcakes with Coconut IMB, Vanilla Bean Cakes with Green Tea Buttercream, French Almond Macarons with Kiwi Cream Cheese Filling, Chocolate Cake Pops, Sixlets, Mint Chocolate Chip Jordan Almonds, Marshmallows and Peapod Cake (Decorated with Fondant and Sixlets).

I have another two of these large round candy jars which I photographed separately as I couldn't fit them on my 300 year old Chinese Temple Drum (knew it would come in handy one day!).

I am very fond of these candy jars (although the small one is actually a sugar bowl) as they really do represent a by gone time.

I particularly like their finials, don't ask me why!

The one at the back is one of my favourites. Again, I don't know their makers (all of the bowls have different patterns), but the tall one I would swear is made by the Indiana Company as it has the same diamond etching and the same finial as my Indiana Ware.

Again, confirmation would be gladly welcomed!!
