A unique statue named Nanookshuk is part of the Bears on Broadway collection seen on the Legislative Building grounds in the City of Winnipeg.
the Nanookshuk is one of the statues belonging to the Bears on Broadway collection. The design of Nanookshuk resembles that of Nanook, the Inuit name for the Polar Bear and an Inukshuk, a navigational marker built out of stones.
Created by Artist, Charles Johnston, the Nanookshuk statue reflects the way people depend on each other and the spirit of cooperation amongst us.
The Bears on Broadway is a project which celebrates the 75th anniversary of CancerCare Manitoba. A variety of the Bears on Broadway, like the Nanookshuk statue, can be seen around the city.
The wonderful Cheer Fit Cheerleaders at the BUPA 10k Run in May. They cheered non-stop for the full 2 hours of the run, and then went back to the assembly point for more!
