Tamate Drummers at an Inauguration ceremony in Bengaluru
The Tamate is a hand drum from the Mysore region of Karnataka in India . It is made of goat hide stretched over a circular frame bound with an iron ring, This drum was once only played by the Holeyas and Madigas communities. Nowadays, it has become part of weddings, protest rallies, celebrations and public awareness campaigns.

In the twilight off it's main line career, 'Western' No. 1010 'Western Campaigner' passes Long Rock on the approach to Penzance heading the 1115 Birmingham New Street - Penzance service on 27th August 1076. 'Campaigner' will likely have taken over the train at Plymouth. The locomotive survived withdrawal and is now owned by The Diesel & Electric Preservation Group based on the West Somerset Railway. It should be noted that Free Tibet is not a charity, though we are a non-profit, non-governmental organisation. Due to the current laws in UK we are unable to apply for charity status, due to what is deemed to be the political nature of our work (the same applies for organisations like Amnesty International and Greenpeace).

Near Wakool, NSW, We are nearing the end of a national election campaign in Australia. This is but one of the myriad of signs appearing around Australia at the moment but I love the originality of the background even if the sign itself is not particularly original. The hot issue in this electorate (where I am not voting) is water and many farmers will be supporting Kevin Mack.
Photographic Society of Madras, a 150+ years old photo club in Chennai, organised a photowalk on a Car Free Sunday at BesantNagar, Chennai. There many life saving and health awareness campaigns were going on and the above image captured while the public were taught the Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation technique. Even the slum children showed keen interest. More than understanding the technique the message would reach the base level people.
