This otter came so close to me that I was starting to wonder what I should do if he came any closer! But then he veered off and jumped into the water. How cute are those little ears?!
Taken yesterday morning just before a huge bank of cloud came over to get in the way of the sunrise.
I came across this abandoned schoolhouse near the town of Girard, I asked the property owner what year it was built and when did it close, 1893-1938, he didn’t say as to why, he let me go inside so I could grab a few photos.
Came across this set of grain bins - the fog turned the scene so mellow. I was tempted to do in B&W but the warm light filtering though was so lovely. Also, the dirt in front of the front bins in black seemed to make the bins run off the image edges, but the slight color change stopped that effect.
Archive shot. Came to mind thanks to Alpine's F1 win today, Aug. 1st 2021.
This shot of a completely different Alpine car was taken at the 6H of Shanghai back in 2015.

I just came home from a quite long car ride (8 hours) and what I did miss the most was the sun. The entire day was wet and grey and dull. This is why I now need to send some colour and sun into the world. before I will go back to my photos from Portugal tomorrow.

I came across this old barn sitting out in the middle of a field, loved the way the sun was beating on it, the clouds and frosty ground give it a special setting.
Perhaps a bit early but... I just felt like winter today :-)

Once upon a time, the pine tree, that spring is already approaching.
The mole croaked grimly: - He will surely come by car.
The hedgehog turned stern: - Rather on a scooter.
The snake hissed: - I don't believe it, he'll come on a bicycle.
The blackbird whistled: - I know something about it, he will come by plane.
- From where again," said the magpie, "I do not take my eyes off her
and last year in May I saw her on the streetcar.
- Not true spring usually arrives by motorcycle!
- And I will prove to you here that it is by car.
- Not true, because in a carriage!
- In a carriage? - What are you saying?
I can briefly declare that he goes by his own boat!
And spring has come on foot.
Already the flowers are enjoying her , already the grasses are growing before her
And they are humming - welcome spring!

The winter and the cold wave came to Switzerland.
With this picture I did not make it easy for me. At first I really could not decide which photo to put on flickr. I wrestled with myself, because I would like to present the most beautiful photo for my friends here. Secondly, the picture was made under very difficult external conditions, because it was really "bitterly cold". I could barely touch my hands after photographing and yet I wanted to get a nice photo of these beautiful ice crystals. I succeeded, more or less, because the background was not ideal for that. In addition, my faithful friend Roco had to wait for me and there I no longer want to start one try after another. This time I did not want to make any compromises with the warm colors of the picture, because the cold should be very touchable. I believe this has succeeded with this picture. I am fascinated by this "little work of art". Each little detail is a miracle of creation, because it was shaped by the elements of nature and radiates its brilliance as long as this nature allows.
I am grateful for these little things without which life would not be so beautiful and interesting.
Rejoice over the elements of nature.
Erwin
I thank you all for the interest and enthusiasm for my work here. I am happy about every comment from you and every time you like my pictures. Thank you very much for all the favorites and for watching my photos.
Small supplement of today:
The winter has caught up with me too, for I am terribly cold. Nevertheless, or just because of this, I am looking forward to every single word from you. Also, I always see in the little things, which makes the importance and beauty of life. Wish all of you a blessed time, without illness and with much love and joy. Hope you can all be in a nice warm place, because outside it is extremely cold here. Brrrrrr .....

Wandering through a forest in Tahiti and came upon a pond full of lilies and lush foliage.
Sometimes when I pass a pond of water full of lilies and logs I don't look underneath the surface, yet here there are sweet reflections and clear water and lots of layers of life :)
Well after an eventful few hours down at Steetley capturing that gorgeous sunrise, we decided to have a walk around the prom at the Headland in Old Hartlepool.
The light and sky still looked wonderful, so I decided to try out the newly acquired very early Xmas present donated to me by an exceptionally kind Flickr friend.
It's early days yet, lots of buttons and toggles to get used to and hopefully with Ken's conversion of all the jargon I'll get there.
Kept it simple in composition, I'm not sure you'll feel the same but I could stare out to sea for hours
Came across this Chiffchaff singing his socks off yesterday on our local walk.
I think this might be a female Goat Willow tree (Salix caprea) but would appreciate a correct I.D.
Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fave my images.
We came across this Black-Crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax) just off the trail at Circle B Bar Reserve (CBBR) near Lakeland, Florida. Initially, he appeared to be sleeping but then he opened his left eye. It may be that one way birds lose body heat is through their beaks. This guy seems to be keeping his beak warm by tucking it under his feathers. He measures 23-28 inches (58-70 cm) from beak-tip to tail-tip.
Came upon this view while hiking up to Lake Agnes there in Banff National Park. Just had to stop and take a shot ... hard to do this view justice but liked the interplay of tall pines and the peaks and the patch of blue sky through the clouds.
Came across this male cardinal sitting in a bush on a snowy day, if you look close enough you can see snow flake shapes on his feathers.
I came across an older photo of mine and I thought I would try to recreate it.

I came across this really graphic looking kiosk on a recent walk though Hyde Park in London. It was of course closed (what isn't!) but that was perhaps no bad thing in terms of photographing it. I've darkened down the areas right and left of the kiosk to focus attention on the strong horizontal lines of the structure which I really liked. I know, not that exciting but I like this kind of thing.
Stay safe people, we're not through this thing yet.

September 3pm hour. A mesmerizing treasure trove of golden sunshine sparkles appeared in the water as I was walking around Ventura Harbor. Then in the fresh ocean breeze, along came a stand-up paddleboarder, unencumbered and uncluttered. After swirling through the sparkles like a lightweight nomad, he turns and looks back. I wonder if he saw the same thing I did. Anyway, it looks like he was freely enjoying the afternoon and I hope he goes home happy.
To be here was such a treat. I wanted a picture with boats for my 'Hours' picture because I was born in September in the 3pm hour on what is now 'International Talk Like A Pirate Day', so it worked out well. Arrr, Matey!
September is so lovely and it will transition into Fall before we know it. As Summer fades, it leaves its door open just a little...
Thank you again for your patience, my Flickr friends. I'm still off and on for awhile longer.

Amazing tunes a must^^
I miss those times
I miss those days
When you were around
So many ways
And it felt so safe
And I was glad
But now something's changed
Makes me sad
And I was waiting patiently
But you never came
I realize it now
Won't ever be the same, again
Won't ever be the same, again . . .

Which Came First, the Chicken or the Egg?
Hannah Gale
There was a little dinosaur,
who made a rock his friend.
He took the rock everywhere,
and said he'd keep it till the end.
One day it was a wee bit cold,
so he held it very close.
But when he felt it start to move,
he thought that it was gross.
First popped out the little head,
then some arms and legs.
So which one really did come first?
The chicken? No. The egg.

I came across this magnificent bird about 3 years ago, while looking for wildlife in the North State of California. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw him, off in the distance. I tried hard to get close enough to him I could get a photo for proof that I'd actually seen such a bird. But try as I may, it wasn't to be that year.
However, last year I saw him again, if it was the exact same bird, I don't know. But I got the proof I was looking for in spades. I was able to take photos of him with 2 different camera's and lenses. Here then is but one of those photo's. Taken with the ever trusty Nikon D7200 and the 500mm f/5.6 lens. I love the older D7200, it's still one of my favorite camera's. Proof you don't have to spend a hundred thousand dollars on equipment to get really great shots of wildlife.

Came across this cute pair yesterday while strolling on Los Angeles Street in the Fashion District of L.A. A surprisingly busy afternoon! :-))
an idea Ephran came up with ages back and we only managed to get photos just the other night.
its out of my norm of pretty faces ....but Ephran has a great eye for detail and a wonderful imagination, so i don't hesitate when he wants to dress me up !
He mostly played with the photography, but i did one shot of my own.
Thank you for a wonderful night of your company Eph.

After a brief display last night these nacreous clouds really came into their own this morning as the sun rose. Absolutely fabulous colours that the camera really cannot do justice to. Also extremely difficult to focus on something as nebulous (sorry!) as these
Came across this outlet on Eastbourne beach, the sea was a light brown which usually makes for some nice pastel colour.
Prehistoric giant came up from the ocean, from the North Sea.
It's resting here
Its head all down, facing his home
Laying on its belly
Arms all flat on the lovely beach
Resting before it will take a deep dive into the ocean again
It's trying to camouflage
But I spotted it
I'm not telling anyone

I came across this old buckboard in a shed at the Chellberg farm, located within the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore in northwest Indiana. Anders and Johanna Chellberg were among the many Swedish immigrants who purchased land and began farming in the area in the 1860s. The National Park Service has restored the Chellberg farm to its appearance around 1900, though I don't think the buckboard was totally restored. :-)

Flickr friends, I am back after some time away due to computer problems. I will be catching up with your latest images soon.
He came with is mate but the swans on the lake didn’t like it because it’s there lake.
They have five Cygnets small compared to other swans.
They was going up and down the lake.but they went in the end.
The two swans on the lake are going a bad moult.
I came across a number of bones in the mud which looked human whilst taking this photo, but I suspect that they maybe from the resturant below Canon Street Railway Bridge.
Came across this old hail storm image (2012) while sorting some files. Lucky with the daylight lightning catch.
Forest Caves Beach.
Philip Island.
I came across this scene earlier this week while out on a local trail. The moose was lying in the snow, tending to what looks like a nasty wound while this opportunistic Magpie hopped right up on the moose's rump and snagged a bill-full of hair. Undoubtedly this hair will be used as nesting material. I couldn't resist snapping some shots of this annoyed moose as she defends herself from her much smaller foe. I think this would make for a really great children's book.
