Another new camera that I treated myself to and it cost less than a tenner !!
It measures just 2 centimetres at it's widest or less than an inch if you want it in English . It lives on a ring attached to the case for the G1 X , but for this afternoon it came off for a macro capture as my one shot a day .

Helios 44M-7 at F11. I know what you are going to say - it's the photographer who's dreaming, not the camera. Well, in my dream it is the camera having dreams. It is a dream of revelation, of revealing what is hidden, of making the unseen visible. I must treat my camera with respect.
After 8 years of impeccable service, this morning likely marked the last day shooting with my 7D before it rides off into retirement. I bought it used from a friend in 2014, and since then I managed to crank out around 100,000 shots on it over the years without any failures. I'm excited to move on up to full frame (a 6D Mark II should be arriving in the mail tomorrow), but in the meantime this thing has been an amazing camera and I couldn't be happier for the mileage I got out of it.
For the final freight shot, I caught northbound I032 making its usual early morning trek north across the Northeast Branch of the Anacostia River. Just ahead, they'll swing a right at the JD Tower wye before reaching the Capital Sub for the next leg of their journey to Baltimore and points north.

The Smile on Saturday topic is “Camera.” My daughter created a gift for me, incorporating this little decoration in framing one of my photographs.
Not every model, and certainly not every variation, but a pretty good sampling of Ciro's history:
In front, a Sears Marvel-Flex, flanked by two Ciro-Flex A's, all dating from c.1941 (only the A on the right has a serial number).
Behind those, a B in the center, a C on the left and an early example of the F on the right, all from c.1948-49;
And in the rear, a DeJur DR-10 from 1953. There ought to be a Graflex 22 back here, but I'm fresh out of those at the moment.
Some random trivia relating to Ciroflex variations:

This passage takes place immediately after what had been a long, hard day for Jesus. He had found out of the execution of John the Baptist earlier in the day and he had tried to be alone, but then the crowds followed out to a remote location. It was there that he healed the sick and fed 5,000 men plus women and children a satisfying meal of fish and bread. Is it any wonder that he was physically, emotionally, & spiritually exhausted and took action to rest and pray? Sometimes...we need to do that too!!
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

Here's the newest addition to my Mini Camera series! The SLR (Single Lens Reflex) was the camera standard for professional photographers before the onset of digital imaging, using film to capture a photo.
And speaking of film, well… this model's got a fun secret that I'll share with you tomorrow. :)
