Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a blue day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Looking Close on Friday is calendar.
I must admit, it’s been a few years since I have used « real » calendars. I use the calendar on my computer or on my phone…So after searching for many, many hours (no exaggeration here !), I got this old calendar from 2013 lol Of course, after all that effort it occurred to me that I could have use my printer and just printed a calendar from the Internet, but it was too late and my house was already a mess.

According to my 50 year perpetual calendar, the next Monday July 20th is in 2026. Happy Macro Monday!
We always have one of these long calendars on the wall to record our appointments, events, what we’ve cooked, places visited, holidays etc. They become a sort of dairy and we have them for the past umpteen years! The ones for 2020 and now 2021 are rather sparsely noted on due to current circumstances!

I was standing with my tripod at Reflection Lakes in Mount Rainier National Park, not too far from another couple of photographers who apparently were either at this spot or near it. I overheard one say to the other "There's the calendar shot!" After they left, I was picking up to head back to the vehicle when I looked over and saw this view. Yup, a calendar shot if there ever was one.

Wakering Photography Group Calendar 2019.
Subject :- The Village of Great Wakering and it’s surrounding Parishes.
My third entry :- "The Broomway" is the historic route to Foulness Island, dating back to Roman times.
It was used as the only way on to Foulness Island before a bridge was built across Havengore Creek, the Broomway could only be accessed at low tide, it was marked by withy’s but could be dangerous at night and in the fog.
The Broomway starts at "Wakering Stairs" on the coast of Essex near Great Wakering, and heads 300 metres out to sea onto the tidal flats of the Maplin Sands.
It then runs for several miles parallel to the coasts of Havengore, New England and Foulness Island, there are several spurs back to farms and MOD slipways on the the island.
Each WPG member submitted three photographs for the 2019 calendar of which only one could be selected for the calendar.
We had three independent judges, Professional Photographer Clarissa Debenham, Accomplished Photographer Stuart Howell and Photography Enthusiast Paul Bates.
I am delighted and humbled that the judges selected this image as one of the twelve for the 2019 calendar.
Wakering Photography Group 2016 Calendar Entry.
This was my April entry for our 2016 calendar sadly not successful on this occasion.
I used a Lee Pro Glass 0.9 ND filter in conjunction with a Lee 0.75 ND Graduated soft filter.

I just got my Burlington Twist Women's Masters Soccer Team calendar last week and WOW! these ladies are impressive. Just looking at how well defined their muscles are inspires me to want to work harder. First of the year, I've got a personal trainer lined up and I'm going to work at getting in better shape. Just because I'm almost 53 doesn't mean I can't have a body that looks 10 years younger--I'd say 20, but think I'd better be realistic about it ;)

Subject :- Essex Architecture.
My First entry :- Chappel North Signal Box.
The station opened with the opening of the line from Marks Tey to Sudbury as part of the Stour Valley Railway on 2nd July 1849, with the name Chappel, it was renamed Chappel and Wakes Colne on 1st October 1914.
Each WPG member submitted three photographs for the 2018 calendar of which only one could be selected for the calendar.
We had three independent judges, Professional Photographer Clarissa Debenham, Accomplished Photographer Stuart Howell and Artist Malcolm Perry.

Mallards basking in the late Autumn sun on a lake at Garons Park Golf Club Southend On Sea Essex with no wind the mirror image was captivating.
This shot cracks me up. Looks like one of those kitten calendar poses.

An all-EMD power consist pulls the IG2OA 22 from the Weber River narrows into Round Valley on Oct. 24, 2009. If this location appears familiar, Union Pacific commissioned artist Howard Fogg to create paintings for the 1969 UPRR calendar. This location was chosen for the October page, featuring an Alco Century 855 meeting an eastbound container train.
