This is one of my favorite shots of the statue of Caesar Augustus in Zaragoza, Spain. The town gets its name from him, and the town is hosting the 2008 World´s Fair. I love ancient history so I was more than awed to see this in person. I am quickly falling in love with the history of the Roman empire, especially here in Spain.

This equestrian statue stands in Rodney Square in Wilmington, Delaware. Caesar Rodney rode from Dover to Philadelphia, helping Delaware ratify the Declaration of Independence. A wikipedia article explains the details: "Rodney was in Dover attending to Loyalist activity in Sussex County when he received word from Thomas McKean that he and George Read were deadlocked on the vote for independence. To break that deadlock, Rodney rode eighty miles through a thunderstorm on the night of July 1, 1776, dramatically arriving in Philadelphia "in his boots and spurs" on July 2, just as the voting was beginning. At least part of Rodney's famous ride was probably made in a carriage. He voted with McKean and thereby allowed Delaware to join eleven other states in voting in favor of the resolution of independence. "

Fat, lazy lump of corruption.

But impossible not to love.

Check out the garnishes on this! Also, Pyota makes a guest appearance.

On Thursday, June 12, 2008; we lounged around the timeshare having breakfast on the patio. Then we rode the shuttle down to Harrah's and had a steak (with our coupon from the timeshare meeting) at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill. Next we listened to some free live entertainment at Harrah's Carnaval Court. That evening Carl and I used the free tickets from the timeshare to a mentalist show at Hooter's. He and I then drove to Paris Las Vegas and went up to the top of the Eiffel Tower Experience to take night photos of the strip.
