Siempre me han llamado la atención esta técnica de multi exposición sobre el mismo objeto variando mínimamente el encuadre, y se suele ver un efecto puntillista. Es la primera vez que lo intentó y aunque no me ha quedado muy bien me servirá de aprendizaje para la próxima vez. Creo que por la focal usada cualquier mínimo movimiento se magnifica aún más y el tronco ha quedado muy desdibujado. Además creo que habría admitido más exposiciones y habría más luz.

Esta foto la daba por perdida, apareció al escanear con los colores muy lavados y pálida, y la he vuelto a escanear modificando niveles y aunque no está bien ahora le veo algún encanto. He modificado también mediante un filtro que ofrece Flickr (taco) y pienso que ha mejorado y parecen colores algo mas naturales.

Otro experimento con la multiexposición, en este caso dos fotos a la copa de un árbol a 1/500 con un paso menos del que debería y una tercera exposición a la madera de un banco a 1/60 en su exposición correcta.

hello flickr friends.
I wish I could pick up a camera right now and share what's happening. I miss my connection with you.
But I just can't. I tried, and it hurts too much.
I lost conor on the last day of may and my business closed on the last day of june. the main structures of my life are now gone and I've been floating around in a fog of grief for the past month, as it all disintegrated, somehow holding it together enough to function, because I had to.
losing conor has been devastating. going into a new phase of life without him at my side is ... well, I've never felt so alone in my entire life. and it's not a void a human can fill. I don't even think another animal could fill it. nothing can replace what I had with him and I miss him so very much.
I'm giving myself 90 days of rest, to recuperate from 9 years of stress. To learn how to slow down and take care of myself. To be open to new pathways.
90 days where I don't have to ask myself what I will do next, because I don't know.
I was going to do a 90 day photo project and write about the process. but I know now that that is completely impossible.
When I developed this film, I realized it was the first roll that wouldn't have conor on it and I was holding back tears at every agitation of the tank.
he is very intertwined with my love of light and the joy I feel when holding a camera. I loved photographing the two of us together, a relationship that I loved so very much.
I'll find my way through. I know this. and I would love if I could figure out how to do it with my camera, since that is my normal tool for times of transition, but for now I just don't know how.
maybe voicing all this will give me the strength to try again.

i was on a tiny sliver of path going around a bend, with people and dogs needing to get around me...but i didn't give up on the scene like i sometimes would, and i'm glad. it took me a bit to gain solitude and decide on the framing. i probably could have spent an hour here, shooting off the entire roll. but i only pressed the shutter once. i think there were more people coming :)
The first roll of film put through a Mamiya C330. The camera belonged to Howard (pictured) and when I saw the results I knew I had to have it! The camera has been my go-to ever since!
Shot on a beautiful lMamiya C330, using Fujifilm Neopan Acros 100, and developed in instant coffee in a recipe called caffenol-C.

our forecast for the week was filled with snow. and even though i made sure to stock up on groceries and made sure i had whatever conor needed, and brought a computer home from work in case i couldn't get to the office...i kinda laughed at myself while i did it, because every time we get this kind of forecast, nothing happens. last year everyone rampaged the stores and all we got was a dusting.
this year we got a pretty crazy hail storm :)
however, i Was excited that it was cold enough to wear the sweater i made last month...
I’ve thought a lot about what photography means to me and how I want to use it. A lot of the time, I do use it in the way that works best for me. But not always.
I like different things of course. Life, creativity, likes and dislikes, what we’re drawn to and how we want to express it - they all change. But there is an underlying factor that stays pretty consistent for me. I want to express my life. Photography is like a visual journal for me and it’s the way I talk about what’s happening, the processes I’m going through, the ups and downs, the joys and sorrows --- whatever it is, and a lot of times I don’t even know what the ‘it’ is until later, it’s there. It’s on the film. It’s a journey and I like that journey. It means something to me, to share my life in this way. I love learning and communicating what I’ve learned and life is an endless road of lessons and discoveries.
I like to photograph a moment and write about what’s happening...the writing is an important factor and sometimes I don’t share that part, because I think it’s too personal or it won’t be understood or I’m afraid I’ll be judged. But I’ve realized I need to speak. It’s what makes the photograph mean something - to me at least. Even if I think my words have nothing to do with the image, in reality (in my opinion) they are connected in some way. And if not, there’s still a story that can be told for the time period it was taken, and to me, that makes it more interesting and personal.
So - 2020. I kept thinking, for months - I need to do something for 2020. 2020 just feels...Important. It’s the double digit that happens once every 100 years. It’s --- I don’t know, 2020!
For a bit, I played with the idea of doing another 365. But that’s not the direction I want to go right now. I need a project to keep a camera in my hand (clearly - since I shot 2 rolls of film in the past 6 months without one) but I want it to be slower and more thoughtful. I want the visual journal aspect but I don’t want to feel all stressed out and hurried that I need to make a photograph every day.
I originally thought of this as a 52 week type thing, the weeks of 2020...something like that. But I don’t know, even that feels too restrictive. I think some weeks will have multiple images/stories and some will have one. But there will always be at least one.
Here’s the hub at the start of 2020. It seemed a good place for an intro. :)
