A couple of rocky mountain bighorns jocky for position to lick up the remnants of road salt from the previous winter on Highway 40 in Kananaskis Alberta.
Kudzu (left) and Lily are best friends, and often enjoy a little horseplay. They're gently butting heads here, but reserving their energy to stay warm in the frigid temperatures at Belmont Audubon Habitat.

All settled in college and just finished my first day of classes. Luckily I have a number of spare flickr photos to upload over the next few weeks and this is one of them. Sorry it's nothing new, but at least it's something lol

Turbo (left) and Slim are very playful, and enjoy head-butting each other. Perhaps they were competing for my attention, as they also enjoy pats. They live at Wright-Locke farm
Along with Merrick butte, these three are an impressive formation in Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. Rising roughly 1000 feet from the desert and approximately 2/3 of a mile apart.

Coyote Buttes South, Arizona
Another shot from the Christmas trip. There are two area of Coyote Buttes South and this is from Cottonwood Cove. It is a larger area and has more fun to play with. It started to snow from the morning and the snow almost lasted the whole day. We drove a few miles of sandy road in snow and got there at noon. The weather was so bad we can't even see what was a few hundred feet away so we waited. After an hour or so it got a little better so we decided to give it a try. And glad we did. It started to clear little by little and the different view brought by fresh powder was fantastic.

Coyote Buttes South is less visited than the North and access is difficult which is good for me... less crowd.

I visited Great Brook Farm while in the Carlisle area today, where these to calves were playing. They'll be providing milk soon for the farm's delicious ice cream.

The Pawnee Buttes are two prominent buttes located within the Pawnee National Grassland in Weld County, of northeastern Colorado. Rising approximately 300 feet above the surrounding plains, the buttes are erosional remnants left standing in isolation as the surrounding High Plains surface has gradually worn away. The lower portions of the buttes are composed of relatively soft, clay-rich sedimentary rock called the Brule formation. The Brule formation is protected by an overlying layer of sandstone and conglomerate sediments called the Arikaree formation, which are more resistant to weathering. - Wikipedia
Well, not a great shot since I scared my model away -- but I found her butt compelling, lol. I love these colors. Shot handheld with a Quantaray 50mm F2.8 Tech-10 macro lens in available light.
Hope I am not boring you with Shield Bug shots, the are about the only bugs I can find at the moment.

The gilded statue of Anna Pavlova atop the Apollo Theatre, in Victoria, London.
The original statue of the leading Russian ballerina Pavlova (February 1881–January 1931) was erected by the owner of the Apollo, Alfred Butt, to celebrate his role in her career. Pavlova herself considered it unlucky and avoided looking at it whenever she visited. It was taken down in 1939 for safe keeping during the war, but was lost. The replica was erected in 2006.
Taken with a Nikon D7000 and a Nikkor AFS DX 18-200mm F/3.5-5.6G lens, and processed in GIMP and Photoscape.
Mardi Gras 2009: at Hotel Lyles Just for the record I didn't take this shot. Walker had the camera a good deal of the time and came back with a lot of butt shots.
