Small shop just outside the temple Taishakuten in Shibamata, Tokyo. Where you can buy all sorts of things: calendars (at least according to the sign hanging by the man's legs), manekineko (beckoning cats), incense. And porcelain snakes (next to the cats). That is due to that temple next door. Taishakuten's main deity is Indra - reshaped in a Buddhist mould - and he is famous for having killed a fearsome snake demon!
Another of the beautiful birds I saw in Singapore. I thought this was a Little Spider hunter but I don't think it's beak is long enough. Other possibility is a female Sunbird but I just can't pin this ID down.
Perhaps someone out there may know!
Bukit Batock Nature Reserve, Singapore
I am finally getting around to doing my photobook for my trip to Singapore. Almost a year ago. I realise there were quite a few images I never got around to posting so may offer some up over the next few days.
It also made me remember how much I loved that trip. I went with my best friend of 50 years who is also a nature and bird lover and she just let me have the whole time dedicated to photography.
A rare, somewhat selfish but amazing experience.
An image from the archives of my trip to Singapore. We were at the Butik Batock National Reserve and there was a group of people in National Dress.
I quickly snapped this image. I wish I was better at asking people if I could take their image. If I'm feeling brave I sometimes do but that's not often. After all, what is the worst that could happen?
Rejection? I think I'm not good with rejection.

This isn't just 'a corridor' - it's called The Corridor. It's a shopping street in central Bath, England. It was designed and built by Henry Edmund Goodridge and opened to the public in October 1825.
When I took this photo the place was actually closed for the day - I took it through the gates!
