In the white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) community, antler size doesn't always equate to dominance. More often it is body size and attitude that make a dominant buck. In this case, this big buck was clearly in charge, pushing around the two previous bucks I posted. Based on the numerous broken tines on his antlers, I think it's safe to say he doesn't shy away from a fight and my guess is that despite the damage to his antlers, he usually comes out on top.

I think this is the look you get when you've crossed the line. Definitely one of my closer encounters with a Red-tailed Hawk. I was actually trying to photograph another raptor close by.

The look a female Badger gives when she finally realizes that a guy with a camera is there…and getting closer!

Bald Eagle with Salmon on river bed along Creek Street in Ketchikan Alaska. I watched for about a minute and then was spotted. The Pink house shot is from the same area about 10 yards away but very early the next morning.

I shot this from the empty back parking lot of a commercial building. Shortly after taking this I was accosted by one of the owners and "reprimanded" for "trespassing". Well he is no longer in my will.

On one of first trips on CMQ the blue 6537 leads a Southbound on the Searsport Sub. The fairly fresh 6537 breaks through bank at the Lebanon Rd in Winterport. It would only be a one way chase as you can see we wouldn't bother chasing them back to NMJ.
