I know it's been done many times but haven't you just got to go to some of these iconic places???
One of the great things about Flickr - I didn't even know this place existed a few years ago!
Trouble is there are still so many iconic places to visit!!!
The Low Lighthouse is one of three lighthouses in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, England and the only one which is still active. It is a Grade II listed building and stands on the foreshore. First lit in 1832, the Low Lighthouse was run in conjunction with the onshore High Lighthouse for then next 137 years. Following improvements to the High Light, the Low Light was then deactivated in 1969; but it was then re-established in 1993.
Burnham-on-Sea is notable for its beach and mudflats, which are characteristic of the Bristol Channel where the tide can recede for over 1.5 miles (2.4 km).

As the blue hour turns to night over Denver, Colorado, on December 7, 2015, Union Pacific GE AC4400CW-CTE No. 5687 sits inside the cavernous main hall of the former Rio Grande backshop at Burnham Shops. UP No. 5687 is getting an overhaul and change out of its old 4,400 hp 7FDL16 prime mover. Sadly, in a place that once built and rebuilt steam locomotives, this unit is the last locomotive to be overhauled at Burnham before UP closed up the place on February 14, 2016.
it was an unusually high tide at Burnham and it coincided with being near sunset so all i needed was the right light and some cloud.....BOOM it worked
Early evening sunshine bathes the ruins of Burnham Norton Friary in Norfolk. The friary was the fourth Carmelite house of friars to be established in England and the first to be founded after the order was expelled from Mount Carmel in 1238 by the Saracens. The friary, near Burnham Market, was founded by Sir William Calthorp and Sir Ralph Hemenhale in 1241.
Another from earlier in the week at Burnham on Sea. The setting sun just lit up the lighthouse. Reflections seem to have been a theme this week!

The tide had come in sufficiently that there was a flurry of activity on the water and boats were leaving having been trapped all day

Burnham on Sea Lighthouse and seafront. Taken at dusk with a 216 second exposure which as helped to create a surreal effect.
Previously unprocessed shot from back in October 2017. This raw file was used as one of the test shots the long exposure version.
The 'Low Lighthouse' at Burnham-On-Sea, Somerset, is the only one of three lighthouses at Burnham to be still active. It is a Grade 2 listed building and stands only 11 m high upon the tidal mud flats of Bridgewater Bay. Its anomaly is it is mainly of wooden construction.
The day this was taken i made a mad dash to the location as stormy weather was forecast and from the window it did look promising. Luckily made it down the motorway just in time for the sunset :)

Burnham Staithe. I waited 30 minutes and shot 30 odd frames to get this one. Not perfect, but as good as I could get....
As the sun set and the tones got cooler as it moved towards the 'blue hour' there was this brief splash of pink in the sky. it lasted for a couple of frames and then disappeared.
