This weekend I'm taking care of some rabbits, including 8 little babies! Their owner encouraged me to bring them inside for a visit, and this presented the perfect opportunity for Blanca to have a gentle, non-threatening encounter after her recent scare, in other words, a little bunny therapy! (I benefited as well!)
Blanca does chase anything that moves and I was a little worried at first ... but she seemed to completely understand my signals that the babies are to be treated with the greatest care. It was quite wonderful! She wanted to lick them and softly nudged them with her nose.
I can often be found "away with the fairies", daydreaming about my next big adventure. Come down the rabbit hole with me...I promise it will be magical.
24 days ago I posted this cute Bunny outside of the nest sunbathing, it has grown since and feels comfortable coming close to me,

The front bunny arrived on my property early last summer to graze in the meadow and soon began hunting for seeds by the birdfeeder. The squirrels always chased him away until he learned how to stand up to them. The second baby arrived six weeks later and kept trying to be friends, but the original bunny took a page from the squirrels and acted aggressively. This is the magic moment when they finally bonded and became companions.

Taken in my parents garden, surrounded by a fence, which their mom somehow got through, and well, here they are!
I can't tell you, if this bunny will bring you some colourful Easter eggs. Alone, sheltered by the high grass it could stay there until Corona passed by.
So, if you wait, it could be better to stay at home, waiting for our tiny friend!

A portrait of my favorite bunny! Bunny Bun Bun is a pretty regular visitor and I always try to have some bird seed out for her as she does love it and now one of her babies (Baby Bunny) is learning to love it also. It's hard to always have it out though as the multitude of squirrels that love it keeps growing..... I've been taking her picture for about four years now which I understand is quite old for a wild bunny. Not sure where Anita and I are off to today but fairly certain it will be interesting! :) Have a wonderful day !
These are our pet rabbits. They are cashmere bunnies and have just had a haircut. Fudge is on the left, Toffee is on the right. Fudge is a rescue bunny that we adopted. After we had him for a couple of years we noticed his biological littermate sister had been surrendered for adoption so adopted her. They instantly recognised each other even though they had been apart for about 4 years. They are such good siblings and adorable to have around.
Normally when they are in this position they want to have their heads rubbed. They love having their heads rubbed .
