LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Little Bee! Little Bee! Scout is organising a game of hide-and-seek with Rosie, Emmett and Edgar. Paddy is going to seek us all out.” *Smiles and giggles.*
LITTLE BEE: “That’s nice, Little Ladybird.” *Sighs and snuggles into Bumble’s tummy.*
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Don’t you want to play hide-and-seek with us, Little Bee?” *Hopeful.* “It will be fun!”
LITTLE BEE: “Thank you Little Ladybird, but I really don’t feel like playing hide-and-seek today.” *Sighs again.*
BUMBLE: “Little Bee isn’t feeling so well just today, Little Ladybird.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Oh I did wonder, Little Bee. I noticed you have been very sleepy lately, and not flying around as much enjoying the autumn flowers.” *Worried.* “So, I brought you a flower. It’s a pretty pink one that Scout says is a Camellia.”
LITTLE BEE: “Oh thank you, Little Ladybird.” *Stretches out paw.*
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Goes to pass camellia flower to Little Bee, but the petals fall off.* “Oh! Oh no!” *Drops camellia stem on the ground.* “Oh Little Bee! I broke the flower!” *Tears well in eyes.* “I’m… I’m so sorry!” *Starts to cry.*
BUMBLE: “Oh please don’t cry, Little Ladybird, It’s alright.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Crying.* “No… no it isn’t!” *Sniffs.* “I… I wanted to… to bring a flower to Little Bee because… because he is sick… and… and I want him to be… better… because… because I love him!” *Cries more.*
LITTLE BEE: “Really Little ladybird. It’s alright, I promise. I know you were just trying to cheer me up.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “I… I was.” *Still crying.* “You are my best bear friend, along with Bumble my guardian. I… I love you.”
BUMBLE: “Little Ladybird, it isn’t your fault that the camellia flower fell apart.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Stops crying.* “It… it isn’t… Bumble.” *Sniffs.*
BUMBLE: “No Little Ladybird. They do that. Camellias are very delicate flowers, and flowers only last a short while, even when left on the tree.”
LITTLE BEE: “And it is sweet of you to want to cheer me up and make me feel better, Little Ladybird, but a camellia flower isn’t going to work.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Gasps.* “It isn’t, Little Bee?”
LITTLE BEE: “It’s sweet of you, but no. What I need to make me feel better is spring, Little Ladybird.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “But Little Bee! It’s autumn now.”
BUMBLE: “We know that, Little Ladybird, and that is why I have been taking to Little Bee and suggesting he go home.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Giggles.* “But Bumble, Little Bee is home, here with us with Daddy Jesse.”
LITTLE BEE: “Well it is true that this is my home, every bit as much as it is yours and Bumble’s, Little Ladybird, but I also have another home.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Gasps again.* “You have two homes, Little Bee? Wow! That is very lucky for you! Where is it?”
LITTLE BEE: “It is at Mummy Marian’s house in the Netherlands.”
BUMBLE: “It is spring there you see, Little Ladybird, and then summer, so Little Bee can thrive and be happy gathering the sweetest pollen to make honey with. Here as autumn goes on leading to winter, there will be fewer and fewer flowers, and Little Bee needs the flowers to be happy and healthy.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Gasps even more.* “But Bumble! Surely you aren’t suggesting that Little Bee…” *Lowers voice.* “Little Bee leaves us and Daddy and everybear to go all the way to the Netherlands?”
BUMBLE: “That’s exactly what I am suggesting Little Ladybird.” *nods seriously.* “Little Bee needs the warmer weather, the sunshine and the flowers.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “But Bumble… the Netherlands is soooo far away!” *Tears well in eyes again.* “And… and... if Little Bee goes to the Netherlands…” *Starts to cry again.* “I’ll never see him again!”
LITTLE BEE: “Oh yes you will, Little Ladybird! I’ll only be gone until the winter is finished here. Then I will come back. That is why I have two homes. I can spend the spring and summer in the Netherlands with Mummy Marian, Peter, Oleg and all the bears at Mummy Marian’s house, and then can come back here to Daddy Jesse’s house when it is spring here and see you again.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “You… you will, Little Bee?” *Stops crying and wipes muzzle with paw.*
LITTLE BEE: “Of course I will, Little Ladybird! You are my best friend and I love you soooo much! I would never want to day goodbye forever. I promise I will come back.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Oh!” *Sniffs and wipes tears away with paws.*
BUMBLE: “And the Netherlands isn’t so far away, with Fairy Mum’s magical portal, Little Ladybird. Little Bee will be there in two seconds.”
LITTLE BEE: :Which means I can be back in two seconds.”
BUMBLE: “And, Mummy Marian says that we can visit Little Bee any time we want to, using the magic portal.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “But Bumble, the magic portal is scary.” *Trembles.*
LITTLE BEE: “Oh no it isn’t, Little Ladybird. You get a lovely feeling of flying free when you step through it, and it is quite safe.”
BUMBLE: “Look how often Peter and Oleg visit Scout and Paddy. And how often Daisy Maud visits her gentlebear Benny. The magic portal brings so much joy to everybear. It’s perfectly safe.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Maybe… maybe I’ll try it, if you hold my paw, Bumble.”
BUMBLE: “Of course I will hold your paw, Little Ladybird.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “I don’t want to do it now!” *Worried.* “I’m still scared of it, Bumble.”
BUMBLE: “Well, I will be ready whenever you want to try, Little Ladybird.”
LITTLE BEE: “And I will be ready, waiting in Mummy Marian’s garden when you are. And so will everybear. But, if you don’t feel that you can use the magic portal before winter finishes here, I will be back in spring.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Alright… Little Bee. If you must go, I will let you, because you are my best friend, and I love you, Little Bee.”
LITTLE BEE: “Thank you for letting me go back to Mummy Marian’s house Little Ladybird. I love you too.”
BUMBLE: “And I love you too, Little Ladybird, and I will be right here with you throughout autumn and winter, until Little Bee comes back.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Thank you Bumble. I love you too. May I have a cuddle?”
BUMBLE: “Oh of course you can, Little Ladybird!” *Smiles.* “Come here and I will cuddle you and Little Bee, and you can cuddle each other.”

LITTLE BEE: “Look Little Ladybird!”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “What is it, Little Bee? Do you recognise Daddy’s garden from up here? If so we need to tell Bumble on the ground. I can fly down to him.”
LITTLE BEE: “No, Little Ladybird, I don’t see Daddy’s garden, but I do see something fun.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Something fun? What is it, Little Bee? What is it that is fun?”
LITTLE BEE: “Do you like playing hide-and-seek, Little Ladybird?”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Well, yes,” *Blushes pink beneath black and white mohair plush.* “If Bumble has the time. He is very busy you see, because as my guardian, he takes good care of me and finds me treats to eat, and of course we have been looking for a new home ever since the metal monsters with sharp teeth,” *Trembles as she flies.* “Pulled down our old home the big old oak tree.”
LITTLE BEE: “Well do you see that red patch down there, Little Ladybird?”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Yes Little Bee. Why?”
LITTLE BEE: “Well, that is a bush covered in red flowers, and I remember passing it after I flew out of Daddy’s garden before I became lost. I think those flowers match your pretty red wings. I think it is a Ladybird Bush! We could play hide and seek in there. You could be very good at hiding amongst the flowers.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Gosh!” *Blushes pink beneath black and white mohair plush again.* “Do you really think so, Little Bee?”
LITTLE BEE: “I do, Little Ladybird. And, I can fetch some pollen from the flowers and make you and Bumble some honey to eat.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Would you really do that for us, Little Bee?” *Shy.*
LITTLE BEE: “Of course I would! You are my friends now, and are helping me find my way back to Daddy’s garden! I love helping my friends!”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Oh thank you, Little Bee!”
LITTLE BEE: “Come on Little Ladybird! Let’s stop and play hide-and-seek for a little while!”
LITTLE LADYBIRD and LITTLE BEE: *Fly down to a japonica bush covered in red blossoms, climb on it and play hide-and-seek.*
BUMBLE: “There you are, Little Ladybird and Little Bee!”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Hullo Bumble!” *Waves as she hangs from a japonica branch.*
BUMBLE: “You mustn’t fly off like that. I was worried where you had gone.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Oh, I’m sorry Bumble.” *Contrite.* “I didn’t mean to cause you any worry! Little Bee and I were just playing hide-and-seek in this Ladybird Bush.”
BUMBLE: “Ladybird Bush, Little Ladybird?”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Nods shyly.*
BUMBLE: “This is a Japonica Bush.”
LITTLE BEE: “I was the one who called it a Ladybird Bush, Bumble, because I thought it matched Little Ladybird’s pretty wings, and it is my fault we flew off. I suggested to Little Ladybird that we could play hide-and-seek in the Ladybird Bush.”
BUMBLE: “Oh that’s alright, Little Bee. Please just don’t fly off again without telling me. I don’t want you to get any more lost than you already are.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Well, guess what, Bumble?”
BUMBLE: “What, Little Ladybird?”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Well, Little Bee recognises this Ladybird Bush as being one that he passed as he left Daddy’s garden and became lost, so we must be on the right track! Isn’t that wonderful?” *Claps paws and twirls antennae with excitement.*
BUMBLE: “Oh indeed it is, Little Ladybird! That is so exciting, Little Bee!”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “And guess what else, Bumble?”
BUMBLE: “What else, Little Ladybird?”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Little Bee is going to make us some honey to enjoy for afternoon tea. So can we stay here for a little bit and play and eat honey, Bumble? Please!”
LITTLE BEE: “Please Bumble! We are having such fun!”
BUMBLE: “Alright, we will stop here and you can play for a little while and then we will eat some honey for afternoon tea!”
LITTLE BEE and LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Hoorah!” *Clap paws and twirl antennae with joy.*
BUMBLE: “But then we must keep going. Since we haven’t found Daddy’s garden yet, I will need to see if I can find the three of us a nice and cosy place to sleep for the night.”
LITTLE BEE and LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Thank you Bumble!”

LITTLE BEE: *Excited.* "I think we are almost there, Little Ladybird and Bumble! Hoorah!" *Flies in loops.*
LITTLE LADBIRD: "I'm tired, Little Bee."
LITTLE BEE: *Excited.* "We are! We are almost there, Little Ladybird! I can smell the jasmine! How exciting!"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Not so fast, Little Bee." *Slowing down more.*
LITTLE BEE: "No! Come on! Come on!" *Flaps wings with excitement.*
LITTLE LADDYBIRD: "I'm sorry Little Bee." *Yawns and smacks lips.* "I'm sleepy."
LITTLE BEE: "Come on, Little Ladybird, not much longer now."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Slows down even further.* "I can't... just can't Little Bee."
LITTLE BEE: "I'll help you, I'll carry you! Climb on my back and I'll fly you there."
BUMBLE: "No, Little Bee!"
LITTLE BEE: *Pauses and flies on the spot.* "What do you mean, no, Bumble?"
BUMBLE: "Just that Little Bee. It means no. Come Little Ladybird." *Hold up paws to Little Ladybird who flies down into his open arms.*
LITTLE LADBIRD: "Thank you, Bumble." *Relieved.*
LITTLE BEE: "But we are almost there, Bumble! We are almost at Daddy's house! I can smell the jasmine!" *Anxious.* "It's not much further, now. I can help Little Ladybird."
BUMBLE: "No, Little Bee!" *Firm, but kind.* "I'm sorry. I know you are excited, but I am Little Ladybird's guardian, and I need to take care of her. She is only little, and when she says she is tired and needs to sleep, she needs to sleep."
LITTLE BEE: *Snuggles against Bumble.* "I'm sorry Little Bee." *Yawns.* "I need a nap." *Puts paw to mouth and sucks it as her eyes close.*
BUMBLE: "If you can smell Daddy's Jasmine, we will be there soon, but not right now. You two have have been flying all day. You must be tired as well."
LITTLE BEE: "Me?" *Yawns.* "No! I'm not tired."
BUMBLE: "No, of course you aren't, Little Bee." *Chuckles quietly.* "Come and sit here next to me, Little Bee." *Pats grass next to him.* "It is soft here, and the setting sun is nice and warm. Come and help me watch over Little Ladybird whilst she sleeps."
LITTLE BEE: "Oh, oh alright, Bumble." *Yawns again.* "We'll stop for a little bit." *Sits down next to Bumble.* "Oh it is soft here on the grass, and warm in the sun."
BUMBLE: "Of course it is, Little Bee. You are a good friend to Little Ladybird. She loves you so much."
LITTLE BEE: *Lets wings still.* "I love Little Ladybird too, Bumble," *Smiles.* "And you of course."
BUMBLE: "Of course, Little Bee. Let me sing Little Ladybird a lullaby. Do you think you can hum along, Little Bee?"
LITTLE BEE: *Yawns and stretches.* "Yes... Bumble."
BUMBLE: *Singing.* "Hush-a-by Ladybird, here in my lap."
LITTLE BEE: *Hums.*
BUMBLE: *Sings.* "Now it grows dark, it's time for a nap."
LITTLE BEE: *Hums as eyelids lower.*
BUMBLE: *Sings.* "When your nap's over, we'll pay Daddy' a call."
LITTLE BEE: *Closes eyes and falls asleep.*
BUMBLE: *Sings and wraps arm around Little Bee.* "Ladybird, Little Bee, Bumble and all."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Sleeps soundly, sucking her paw.*
LITT:E BEE: *Sleeps soundly, gently buzzing.*
BUMBLE: "Good night Little Ladybird. Good night Little Bee. We'll find Daddy's house tomorrow. I love you both."

LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Bumble! Bumble!" *Excited.* "Bumble, come quickly!"
BUMBLE: *Hurries into garden following the sound of Little Ladybird's voice.* "Little Ladybird, are you alright?" *Looks.* "Goodness did you get stuck in that old tree?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Giggles.* "No Bumble! I flew up here!" *Giggles more.*
BUMBLE: "Then what is wrong?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Wrong? Why nothing is wrong. Why would you think something was wrong, Bumble?"
BUMBLE: "Well, when I heard your voice, I thought you were upset."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh how lovely of you Bumble. I'm not upset at all! I'm excited!" *Flaps little ladybird bear wings with excitement.* "I'm sorry Bumble. I didn't mean to worry you!" *Puts paw to mouth.*
BUMBLE: "Oh that's quite alright Little Ladybird. I'd much prefer to come out here and find you well, than come out here and find you upset. Now, tell me, what are you excited about, Little Ladybird?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "I'm excited by these!" *Points paw to dainty white flowers.*
BUMBLE: Oh! Jasmine flowers! How lovely Little Ladybird! That means that soon the air in Daddy's garden will be sweet with the fragrance of jasmine."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Yes I know that is true, but just imagine what else this means!" *Excited.*
BUMBLE: "Hhhmmm..." *Puts paw to mouth.* "I'm not entirely sure I know what you are referring to, Little Ladybird. What do you mean?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh Bumble! Don't you see?" *Keeps flapping little ladybird bear wings with excitement.* "This means that spring is here, and that means that Little Bee can come back to us!" *Claps paws in delight.*
BUMBLE: "Oh!" *Puts paw to mouth.* "Oh Little Ladybird, it is true that jasmine flowers are spring blossoms, however it has been a very mild winter here at Daddy's house so the jasmine is coming out a little bit earlier than usual."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Earlier? What do you mean, Bumble?"
BUMBLE: "Well it means that even though the jasmine is starting to come out, it is still winter time, not spring."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "What?" *Gasps.* "Oh no! Does that mean that Little Bee isn't coming home to us yet?" *Tears well in eyes.*
BUMBLE: "I'm afraid not just yet, Little Ladybird."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "But I miss Little Bee!" *Starts crying.* "He has been gone soooo long!"
BUMBLE: "Oh please don't cry, Little Ladybird. It is still too cold for Little Bee to come back yet."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Crying.* "But you just said that it has been mild, Bumble."
BUMBLE: "I know, Little Ladybird, and it is, but it is still too cold yet for Little Bee, especially in the mornings and at night, and there aren't enough flowers yet for him to enjoy."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh!" *Stops crying.* "Oh I was so hopeful, Bumble."
BUMBLE: "I know, Little Ladybird. But you want Little Bee to be happy, don't you?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Sniffs.* "Oh of course, Bumble. he is my best friend."
BUMBLE: "Then if you are patient for just a little bit longer, in a month or so, it will be spring, and then Little Bee will return to us."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Really, Bumble?"
BUMBLE: "Really, Little Ladybird."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh that's alright then. So long as he is coming back!"
BUMBLE: "Of course he is coming back, Little Ladybird, but he is still enjoying all the flowers and bears at Mummy Marian's house, as it is still summer there."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oooohhh!"
BUMBLE: "Come on Little Ladybird. Let's go and see if Daddy has any nice biscuits for us, and then we can read a faerie tale. Would you like that?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh yes please, Bumble! I should like that very much!" *Flies down from tree into Bumble's open arms.*

LITTLE BEE: *Sits in pretty pink prunus blossom tree and sobs, and sobs and sobs.*
VOICE ONE NEARBY: *Quietly.* “Bumble? Bumble!”
VOICE TWO NEABY: *Equally quietly.* “What is it, Little Ladybird?”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “I hear crying, Bumble. Do you hear it too?”
BUMBLE: “I do declare, Little Ladybird. I wonder who would be crying on such a beautiful day?”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “I think it is coming from within that prunus tree over there, Bumble. I can see the blossoms trembling.”
BUMBLE: “Well, why don’t you fly up and see who it is, Little Ladybird.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Oh! Do I have to, Bumble? Couldn’t you just climb the tree and find out for yourself?”
BUMBLE: “Yes you do, Little Ladybird!” *Shocked.* “We bears, even little ladybird bears like you, and flower bears like me, have a responsibility to comfort anyone who is unhappy or crying.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Yes I know Bumble, but you also know that I am shy and scare easily. What if it is a monster in that tree? What if it is a ladybird bear eating monster, Bumble?” *Trembles.* “I’m scared.”
BUMBLE: “Oh you don’t need to be scared, Little Ladybird. There are no such things as ladybird bear eating monsters.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “But how do you know, Bumble? Have you ever met a monster before, even a non ladybird bear eating one?”
BUMBLE: “Well no, Little Ladybird, but if it is perchance one, you can fly away quickly. Listen to that sobbing. It is so heartbreakingly sad. We cannot just go by and ignore it. It is our duty to help.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Alright Bumble. I’ll try and be brave.”
BUMBLE: “Good girl, Little Ladybird. You can do it.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Flies up quietly into the prunus tree and peers through the blossoms and sees Little Bee crying in the fork of the tree. She flies back to Bumble on the ground below.*
BUMBLE: “Well done, Little Ladybird. I know you are shy and easily scared. That was very brave of you.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Thank you, Bumble.”
BUMBLE: “Well, what did you see? Who is crying in the tree, Little Ladybird?”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Well, you were right, it wasn’t a ladybird bear eating monster in the tree, Bumble. It was a little bee bear who is sobbing and sobbing and sobbing like his poor little heart is broken.”
BUMBLE: “Then we must help him, Little Ladybird!” *Walks up to tree and calls from below.* “Hullo! Hullo up there! Hullo?”
LITTLE BEE: *Sobs and sobs, then snuffles. “Hul… hullo?”
BUMBLE: “Hullo there, little bee bear. What troubles you so that you are crying?”
LITTLE BEE: “Who…” *Sniffs and snuffles.* “Who are you?” *Opens eyes wide as he spies a friendly looking golden mohair bear beneath the tree.*
BUMBLE: “I am Bumble, and this is my friend and ward, Little Ladybird.” *Points paw to Little Ladybird as she flies and lands in the tree on a branch next to Little Bee.*
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Waves paw at Little Bee, smiles shyly, then blushes pink beneath black and white mohair plush.*
BUMBLE: “Little Ladybird is a little bit shy. Who are you, little bee bear?”
LITTLE BEE: *Sniffles and wipes tears from eyes.* “I am…” *Gulps.* “Little Bee.”
BUMBLE: “Well, how do you do, Little Bee.” *Smiles in a friendly way.* “Good, well now we have the formalities out of the way, why are you crying Little Bee?”
LITTLE BEE: “Well, I am new here to this place, and… and…” *Tears well in eyes.* “And I became lost. I’m looking for Daddy Jesse’s garden. Do you know Daddy Jesse? He is very nice. He looks after a big bear family and makes them cakes and throws tea parties for them, and… and…” *Gulps back tears.* “And he gives them big cuddles and lots of soft kisses. I need to get unlost, so that I can play in his garden with the other bears at Daddy Jesse’s house, like Paddy and Scout and Rosie.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Quietly.* “Oh Bumble. He sounds like a very nice Daddy, just like the kind we are looking for.”
BUMBLE: “I’m afraid we don’t know Daddy Jesse, but I think Little Ladybird and I would like to meet him.”
LITTLE BEE: “Why…” *Snuffles.* “Why would you like to meet Daddy Jesse, Bumble?”
BUMBLE: “Well, you see, Little Ladybird and I are looking for a new home, Little Bee.”
LITTLE BEE: “Why Bumble? Why Little Ladybird? What is wrong with your house?”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Looks sad and shakes her head.*
BUMBLE: “Unfortunately, Little Bee, Little Ladybird and I recently lost our home, which was in a beautiful old oak tree in the middle of a garden of an old house. One day some awful noisy… things.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “They were monsters, Bumble.” *Trembles with fear.* “They were big, noisy monsters made of metal, with big, sharp teeth.” *Trembles more.*
BUMBLE: “Well, the monsters or whatever they were, attacked our tree and tore it out of the ground, and they built a big, ugly house of grey boxes on top of where our home was. So,” *Sighs.* “Now we are looking for a new home.”
LITTLE BEE: *Puts paw to mouth.* “Oh that is awful for you, Bumble and Little Ladybird!” *Gasps.*
LITTLE LADUBIRD: “I know, Little Bee! I was scared. I had to fly away, and Bumble ran through the undergrowth to get away.”
BUMBLE: “Perhaps, Little Ladybird and I could help you find your very nice and kind sounding Daddy Jesse and his garden, Little Bee?”
LITTLE BEE: “Oh!” *Gasps and smiles. “Oh would you? Could you?”
BUMBLE: “Yes of course we can, Little Bee! We are bears after all, so we must help everybody and everbear in distress.”
LITTLE BEE: “Claps paws in delight.*
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Shyly.* “And… and maybe your Daddy could give us a new home in his pretty garden.”
LITTLE BEE: “Oh I’m sure he would! He always says that there is always room for one more bear! Even though there are two of you, I’m sure he could find somewhere lovely for you to stay at his house.”
BUMBLE: “Then let us see if we can’t find him together, Little Bee: you, me and Little Ladybird.”
LITTLE BEE: “Oh thank you, Bumble and Little Ladybird! I feel better already!”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Smiles shyly.* “That’s good, Little Bee.”
BUMBLE: “Which way did you think you came from, Little Bee?”
LITTLE BEE: “Over there somewhere, Bumble, somewhere beyond the park and the meandering brook.”
BUMBLE: “Then that is the way I will walk, and you will fly. We can stop and rest along the way when you feel tired.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Shyly.* “I get tired quite a lot, because I am only a little girl ladybird bear, you see, Little Bee.”
LITTLE BEE: “Maybe… maybe we can hold each other’s paws for reassurance and strength, Little Ladybird.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Looks down thoughtfully at her black mohair paw.* “Well, I…”
BUMBLE: “I think that is a very lovely idea, don’t you, Little Ladybird?” *Looks seriously at Little Ladybird.*
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “Oh! Oh, alright Little Bee. Thank you.”
BUMBLE: “Good! Let’s go! The first thing I need to work out is how to get over the babbling brook!”
LITTLE BEE: *Offers paw to Little Ladybird.*
BUMBLE, LITTLE LADYBIRD and LITTLE BEE: *Begin the journey looking for Daddy Jesse and his garden together.*

LITTLE LADYBIRD: "I am not used to flying so high. I usually fly close to Bumble."
LITTLE BEE: "Don't be scared, Little Ladybird. You are with me, and I will keep you safe in the air, just as Bumble keeps you safe on the ground."
LITTLE LADYBORD: "You will, Little Bee?"
LITTLE BEE: "Of course, Little Ladybird! You are my special friend, and you and Bumble came to my aid when I was lost and alone! I love you, Little Ladybird!"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Gosh! That is so lovely of you!" *Blushes pink beneath black and white mohair plush.* "I love you too, Little Bee. You are the best friend anybear could have... along with Bumble of course!"
LITTLE BEE: "Of course!"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Why have you flown so far up this tree, Little Bee?"
LITTLE BEE: "Well, for a start, the flowers at the top of the tree make the sweetest honey. But also, after finding the Ladybird Bush that I recognised..."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Giggles.*
LITTLE BEE: "I thought we might be close to Daddy's house and this tree provides a great vantage point!"
BUMBLE: *Scrambles up into the tree.* "Hullo you two! What are you up to?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Hullo Bumble! I love you!" *Gives Bumble a soft Little Ladybird kiss.*
BUMBLE: "I love you too, Little Ladybird." *Gives Little Ladybird a snuffly kiss.* "And you too, Little Bee."
LITTLE BEE: "I love you too, Bumble, and as I was just saying to Little Ladybird, I thought this would be a good vantage point to see if I can see Daddy's garden from here."
BUMBLE: "Well, it is certainly high enough, Little Bee."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "And can you see, Daddy's garden, Little Bee?"
LITTLE BEE: *Looks carefully all around, then pauses and rubs eyes.*
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh! Do you have some dust in your eyes, Little Bee!" *Raises paw to mouth.*
LITTLE BEE: "No... but I think I see it!"
BUMBLE: "See what, Little Bee?"
LITTLE BEE: "Daddy's garden, Bumble!" *Excited.* "I think I see Daddy's garden!"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Really, Little Bee?"
BUMBLE: "Where, Little Bee?"
LITTLE BEE: "Over there! Points paw in an easterly direction. "Do you see all that flowering jasmine and wisteria?"
BUMBLE: "I do!"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh it is so pretty, Little Bee!"
LITTLE BEE: "Well, Daddy has a big hedge made up of jasmine and wisteria that runs the entire length of his garden!" *More excited.*
BUMBLE: "Well that is certainly a hedge of jasmine and wisteria, and it runs the length of the garden!" "Hopeful.* "That's a very positive sign."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh how wonderful, Little Bee!" *Claps paws and flaps little ladybird wings in excitement.* "Our journey may soon be over!"
LITTLE BEE: "Come on Bumble and Little Ladybird! Let's see if we can't get there today!"
BUMBLE: "It still looks quite far away, but we can try, Little Bee!"

LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Bumble? Bumble!" *Tugs on Bumble's arm.*
BUMBLE: "Yes Little Ladybird?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Bumble, I miss Little Bee!" *Sighs.* "I miss him soooo much!"
BUMBLE: "I know you do, Little Ladybird. I miss Little Bee too, but you saw how happy he was to be zipping through the garden at Mummy Marian's."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "I know, but I still miss him, Bumble. I can't help it."
BUMBLE: "You know what we need, Little Ladybird?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "No. What do we need?"
BUMBLE: "We need a distraction! Something to take our mind off Little Bee's absence."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh yes!" *Claps paws.* "What shall we do?"
BUMBLE: "What about a faerie tale, Little Ladybird?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh yes!" *Claps paws again.* "I love faerie tales ever since Daddy and Paddy introduced us to them. I don't know how we lived without them! Will you read one to me? I'm to little to know how to read..." *Blushes pink beneath black, white and red ladybird bear plush.* "Yet!" *Giggles.*
BUMBLE: "Yes, I'll read to us both, Little Ladybird. What about Sleeping Beauty?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "I don't mind, Bumble. I don't know that faerie tale."
*A short while later...*
BUMBLE: *Reading.* "There on a carved ebony bed lay the Princess Benevola, between the silver cloth curtains, covered with cloth of gold, and with a veil of white gauze laid over her from head to feet."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Gasps and puts paw to mouth.*
BUMBLE: *Reading.* "He turned down the veil, and set his red rose beside the others that lay at her breast, fresh and dewy as when they had been plucked a hundred years ago."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh wake up Princess Benevola! Wake up, please!" *Hopeful.*
BUMBLE: "Well the Prince is hoping for the same thing, Little Ladybird." *Continues to read.* "But the Princess did not wake. Then he put his hand on the silver cloth pillow, and leaned over and kissed her softly, and she put her arm up sleepily round his neck and kissed him back."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh!" *Claps paws.* "Princess Benevola woke up!" *Happy.* "Maybe she was just pretending to still be asleep for just a moment longer when the Prince asked her to wake up, because she wanted him to kiss her, because he is so handsome."
BUMBLE: "How could she do that Little Ladybird?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Well maybe she was asleep, but when the Prince came in, she woke up and peeked, but kept her eyes mostly closed, so the Prince thought she was asleep." *Nods seriously.*
bumble; "Hhhmmm..." *Considers.* "Maybe, Little Ladybird."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Do you know what, Bumble?"
BUMBLE: "No, what Little Ladybird?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "I think that if the Princess Benevola had to wait a hundred years for her Prince to find her, I think I can wait for spring to come and bring Little Bee back to us."
BUMBLE: "That's good, Little Ladybird, although it may be over a hundred sleeps before they come back."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "So long as each sleep isn't one hundred years, I don't mind, Bumble."
BUMBLE: "Good, Little Ladybird. Do you feel better now?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Smiles.* "I do, Bumble! I feel much better and happier now. Do you, Bumble?"
BUMBLE: "I do, Little Ladybird!"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "That's good, Bumble." *Gives Bumble a big little ladybird bear hug and snuffly kisses.*
BUMBLE: "Thank you, Little Ladybird." *Gives Little Ladybird a big little bear hug and snuffly kisses back.*
Bumble and Little Ladybird are reading from my first edition "The Old Nursery Stories" by E. Nesbit, illustrated by W.H. Margetson, published by Henry Frowde, Hodder & Stoughton in 1913.

LITTLE BEE: *Excited.* "Little Ladybird! Bumble!"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "What is it Little Bee?"
BUMBLE: "Are you alright, Little Bee?"
LITTLE BEE: "I am! I am! I am excited! Guess why?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Why, Little Bee? Did you find a lovely flower to make honey from?"
LITTLE BEE: "Better, Little Ladybird! We are here!"
BUMBLE: "Where, Little Bee?"
LITTLE BEE: "At Daddy's house! This is his fence and those are his wisteria and jasmine! Come on! You can club up the vines, Brumble, and Little Ladybird, you can fly over the top with me! Come on!"
*LITTLE BEE and LITTLE LADYBIRD fly over the wall, whilst BUMBLE climbs up a wisteria vine and climbs over.*
LITTLE BEE: "Daddy! Daddy!" *Excited.* "Daddy I'm home!"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Tugs on Little Bee's arm.* "Little Bee... Little Bee?"
LITTLE BEE: "What is it, Little Ladybird?"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Little Bee, what if Daddy doesn't like Bumble or I? What if... what if he says that we can't stay?" *Tears well in eyes.*
BUMBLE: "Then we shall find a home somewhere else, Little Ladybird."
LITTLE BEE: "You won't need to find somewhere else to live, Bumble and Little Bee! Daddy is a lovely, loving Bear Daddy, and he will love you!" *Smiles.* "Trust me! I know."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Oh look Bumble!" *Points paw.* "There are bears playing in the garden." *Giggles.* "It look like they are playing hide-and-seek."
BUMBLE: "Why yes! It does look like that!"
LITTLE BEE: "That is Scout! He is such a fun little bear, and the other is his cousin, Rosie!"
BUMBLE: "There are other bears too, Little Ladybird! There are two walking arm in arm."
LITTLE BEE: "Those two are Jago and Daisy-Maud. They are brother and sister bears. They are ever so lovely!"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "Who is that bear in the brown hat and mackintosh with pretty red boots, Little Bee?"
LITTLE BEE: "That's Paddy! Paddy is the bear who keeps an eye on everybear to make sure that nobear gets lots, hurt or is sad."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "He has such a friendly face."
BUMBLE: "I have a good feeling about Daddy's house, Little Ladybird. I think we have found our new forever home!"
LITTLE LADYBIRD: "It looks peaceful and tranquil, and I don't see any nasty monsters with sharp metal teeth!" *Wipes head with paw.* "Thank goodness!"
LITTLE BEE: "Daddy! Daddy!" *Excited.* "Daddy I'm home!"
DADDY: *Walks into the garden from inside the house.* "Little Bee! Little Bee is that you?" *Claps hands.* "Oh thank goodness you are alright! I thought you were lost! Mummy Marian said you were coming though the magic portral, but you never arrived." *Smiles.* "Now, here you are!"
LITTLE BEE: "Well... well I was lost, Daddy, but luckily I was found by new friends, Little Ladybird and Bumble. They helped me find my way back home."
DADDY: "Oh! How do you do, Little Ladybird! How do you do Bumble. Thank you so much for helping Little Bee find his way home."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Waves paw at Daddy, smiles shyly, then blushes pink beneath black and white mohair plush.*
BUMBLE: “How do you do, Daddy. I am Bumble, and this is my friend and ward, Little Ladybird.” *Points paw to Little Ladybird as she bats her wings shyly.* "She's a little bit shy."
DADDY: "Well, you don't need to be shy here, Little Ladybird. You and Bumble are both welcome here, especially because you helped Little Bee."
LITTLE BEE: "That's good you said that, Daddy."
DADDY: "And why is that, Little Bee."
LITTLE BEE: "Well, you see, Little Ladybird and Bumble are looking for a new home, Daddy."
DADDY: " “Why Little Bee? What is wrong with your house, Bumble and Little Ladybird?”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Looks sad and shakes her head.*
BUMBLE: “Unfortunately, Daddy, Little Ladybird and I recently lost our home, which was in a beautiful old oak tree in the middle of a garden of an old house. One day some awful noisy… things.”
LITTLE LADYBIRD: “They were monsters, Bumble.” *Trembles with fear.* “They were big, noisy monsters made of metal, with big, sharp teeth.” *Trembles more.*
BUMBLE: “Well, whatever they were or were not, they attacked our tree, Daddy, and tore it out of the ground, and they built a big, ugly house of grey boxes on top of where our home was. So,” *Sighs.* “Now we are looking for a new home.”
DADDY: *Puts hand to mouth.* “Oh that is awful for you, Bumble and Little Ladybird!” *Gasps.* "Perhaps you'd consider staying here with us? As you can see," ^waves arms around hum. "This is a safe haven for bears... including little ladybird bears." *Tickles Little Ladybird under the chin.*
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Giggles and smiles.*
DADDY: "So you are welcome to stay."
LITTLE BEE: "See! I told you, Little Ladybird and Bumble! Daddy is very nice. He looks after all bears and makes them cakes and throws tea parties for them, and… and…” *Gulps back tears.* “And he gives them big cuddles and lots of soft kisses." *Blinks back tears of joy.*
DADDY: "Little Bee is right, Bumble and Little Ladybird! Would you all like a cuddle now?"
LITTLE BEE: "Oh yes!" *Flies into Daddy's arms.* "I missed you Daddy!"
DADDY: "Come Bumble and Little Ladybird. Don't be shy. It's quite safe."
LITTLE LADYBIRD: *Flies into Daddy's arms.
BUMBLE: "Climbs down into Daddy's arms.*
DADDY: "Good! Well, now that all the formalities are over, welcome to the family, Bumble and Little Ladybird. Allow me to introduce you to Paddy. Little Bee, you better find Scout. He has been as worried as me about you. He's been playing with Aurora in the snow in Mummy Marian's garden, and I think he is about to go back to see her again and have some hot chocolate. He can let Mummy Marian and Peter know that you are safe now."

[INTRO] @charlescreaturecabinet 💞 NONIKUMA 🐝🐻♀️
** not to be confused with the Japanese Yokai: Onikuma **
"We are here in the area of the Woolly BumblebeeBears (Nonikuma, subspecies of the Woodling Faeries)**. Those are little bumblebeebear fairies, which are only visible at full moon! We call them the Luna Nights. And this is just such a moment! "
Edward approached and saw in the brownish forest floor among the fungi a charming little creature with pleasing, round shapes like a woolly bear. Big, innocent and yet somewhat mischievous eyes looked questioningly at Edward. The creature measured less than a decimeter long. Despite the silvery moonlight, Edward saw that the nonikuma's wings had the same markings as those of a 'garden tiger moth'. The elven bear spread its wings and broke away from Edward's field of vision.
**These and more recently discovered species are already documented in the prospective 'Woodlings Faeries Encyclopedia' field guide ~WIP by @charlescreaturecabinet

I’m in my Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas costume. Rosie wasn’t in her costume yet (she was gonna wear a bee costume and be a bumblebear xD) I had just bought the Ohm necklace. Her store’s slurl is slurl.com/secondlife/Filataponic/236/188/51
fyi, this was a quick on the fly snap and I know the Flickr square thumbnail is going to just show the store's floor *shrug*

This big fuzzy Bumble bee was intently foraging for nectar on Chromolaena odorata at Frenchman's Forest Natural Area. I am constantly amazed at how such relatively tiny wings support such big bees! I named this particular bee Bumblebear Fuzzybuzzer. This wildflower is native but considered an invasive weed in many parts of the world. The bees disagree.
