The gray and gloom of this photo reflect how I feel when I see this old beauty being torn down.

I worked in Conrail's C&S Dept. and never found a good explanation why FH had 2 sets of semaphores, a PL and a STOP sign going north. Any ideas?

Designated a local preservation district in 1978 and listed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1980, Allentown is one of the first and largest residential historic districts in the United States. The Allentown Historic Preservation District is bound by North Street to the north, Main Street to the East, Edward Street to the South, and Plymouth to the West, and is walking distance from downtown Buffalo, the West Village, the Elmwood Village, the Fruit Belt neighborhood, and the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. A wind storm blew a small (in comparison to the size of the building) hole in a wall of this grain elevator located between the City Ship Canal and Ganson St. in Buffalo, NY. Instead of repairing this 120 year old icon, building owners, ADM, decided to tear it down. people protested but alas big corporations get their way. Thanks ADM.

So much texture here. I like the color on the door vs. the lack of color in the rest of the photo. The graffiti is on the door only, looking to me like framed artwork hanging on a wall.

Amazing that this building is still standing in what looks to be in somewhat original condition.
