Self Portrait of me. A rare occurrence.

My red, parrot tulip bud, still growing. My previous post was of this parrot tulip in

full, glorious bloom. (Best viewed in black)

So first the girl (see previous), now, the boy…

It is great that their mum gave them proper canvasses to work on; they had taken it much more serious than they would just paper. It reflected in the care and detail in the paintwork.

His are the two outer ones.

He normally runs off when he sees my camera, but not here, after I had explained to them how important it is for an Artist to be seen with their work.

He even gave me a lovely smile, probably because he knew it wouldn’t take long , he’d observed attentively, when I photographed his sister, if he hadn’t liked what he saw, he would have ran… I know him!

No, a HUGE success

The paintings are fairly high on the wall, but I liked that, it emphasizes how young and little he is.

I know it’s edgy, but that’s really how I want it, it looks so much better.

The comp of an image is a very personal thing; I understand this is not to everyone’s taste.

Taken with natural light.

I wish you a sunny day and thanx for your time and comments, I really appreciate it, Magda, (*_*)

Get artistic big time

. . . hanging out at Seaport Village a while back, saw this fantastic scene and thought I'd share it with you.

These kids all had sketch pads and were drawing the large floral arrangement there in the corner of the photo. It was really fun to watch these kids, all of them concentrating on what they were doing, not distracted at all by what was going on around them. I only wish I had taken a couple of photos of their sketch pads. I was going to walk behind them and do so but didn't want to distract them.

My favorite is little dude to the left. How precious is that? And how wonderful this whole scene? Precious and wonderful. Yeah. Big time.

A previous assignment to the Continent luckily left me with some time to visit old friends.

This friend had just moved house, she's an Artist, a potter.

The weather had been just as dreary there in the beginning of July, so she painted her walls yellow. But even without that it always feels ‘sunny’ in her home.

They have two children; this is the eldest, the girl.

I watched her grow up over the years; she’s always been a creative child.

I have a plaster 'polar bear candle holder' which duly comes out every Christmas, numerous drawings on the fridge.

Now she’s maturing fast, this is some of her finest work, the stripy ones.

Not much had been unpacked so far, but in the kitchen and on the wall in the sitting room was a row of paintings on small canvasses that these young Artists produced, they each were extremely proud to point out which were theirs.

Normally they’re not keen on being photographed, but I said how important it is for an Artist to be seen with her work.

Tomorrow, the boy…

Memories of a very good day.

I wish you all the best of days and thank you for the visit, Magda. (*_*)

Audrey and I created this painting last weekend. We experimented with color mixing, and played with putting two colors into a palette well without mixing. My job was to paint stems so that she could come along with a big brush and paint flowers.

I liked the result so much that I framed it for my office. :-)

The bridge looks like it could use a few support tresses. Oh, and those kids had sketchbooks. No criminal activity is implied.
