A photo of the beautiful city of Budapest. It was taken during a visit to several Eastern European countries some years ago. My cousins were living in the Czech Republic at the time, and we spent several weeks with them exploring Hungary, Slovakia, Austria and the Czech Republic. It didn’t hurt that my cousin was a travel agent at the time!

This night photograph of Budapest Szechenyi Chain Bridge was taken in March 2025 from a spot near to Buda Castle during a slightly breezy evening.
According to Wikipedia, the Széchenyi Chain Bridge is a chain bridge that spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, the western and eastern sides of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. It was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Hungary, and was opened in 1849.
This captivating nightscape of the bridge, with one of the lions and illuminated bridge piers and cables, was one worth remembering for the visit to Budapest.

The Hungarian Parliament Building (Hungarian: Országház, pronounced [ˈorsaːkhaːz], which translates to House of the Country or House of the Nation), also known as the Parliament of Budapest for being located in that city, is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings, a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination of Budapest. It lies in Lajos Kossuth Square, on the bank of the Danube. It is currently the largest building in Hungary and still the tallest building in Budapest.
