Hyannis, Cape Cod, MA, USA
Came across a guy crabbin' in a creek in Hyannis, who graciously allowed me to get a shot of his haul !
It was quite a rain storm we had last night, elevated by strong wind and accompanied by tons of lightning.
A cold front will sweep through our area this morning with strong northerly winds, it will leave the area feeling like winter for days!!! 😞
Thanks for stopping by; have a restful and relaxing weekend, dear photography friend!! 💕🌹
After a day of buckets of rain, a. wonderful half hour at Elgol watching the waves crash and the clouds charge across the scene. There always seems to be a moment in every day when
the light performs. It's been such a. wild and wet few days , but I've had such fun. Buckets of rain is by Bob Dylan.
A lone bucket in the middle of the sandy shoreline has not been touched for a long time as there are no tracks or evidence of human traces. Not as exciting as the "Utah Monolith" discovered in November :-)
The Great Salt Lake - GPS is not the exact spot of the shot.
No comments today – just enjoy :-)
With a former BN SD40, L76 crosses the diamond with the I&O as they leave Lima for Findlay. Original to the 1941 upgrade of the interlocking, a NKP R2 still protects the crossing. While not an incredible shot, this has been a bucket list item for me for some time, as this job runs under the cover of darkness most of the year. Even in the summer it leaves when light is fleeting, making this a tricky shot to get. With so few NKP R2s still in service, I'm glad to have a presentable shot here.

What, you don't happen to have a bucket of rusty old rail spikes lying around?

The second item on my bucket list - a bucket of bolts. According to www.urbandictionary.com, a bucket of bolts is a machine that is old, run-down, or worn out. I think this old truck qualifies!
I got lucky with the horse in the background too. He decided to cross the entire field to get into the photo. Have a great weekend everyone!
Sandhill Crane
Kearney, Nebraska
I was invited to join some friends to witness the annual crane migration in Kearney. I have to admit that it was not on my bucket list, but it SHOULD have been! I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Nothing like getting up way before dawn, and quietly walking to a viewing blind to see and hear thousands of cranes waking to greet the morning. During the day, these beautiful birds are in the corn fields adding weight for their long journeys into Canada and the Arctic. I highly recommend that you add this destination to your bucket list.
I've never been very successful at bird-in-flight photos, but this (rented) lens helped me get some keepers.
This was the first Mandarin Duck we had ever seen in the wild. Bucket list cha ching ! They were swimming with the other Wood Ducks at Elk Grove Regional Park. The 2 Mandarin males were swimming behind a couple of cute female Wood Ducks. They were courting the females by head bobbing. The adult male has a red bill, large white crescent above the eye and reddish face and "whiskers". The breast is purple with two vertical white bars, and the flanks ruddy, with two orange "sails" at the back.
With all respect toward my fine monochromatic feathered Flickr friends, there is a richness in color which brings forth the joy of the moment.

ODC - bucket list
It has been on my bucket list to attempt an image of a rain storm. Literally we had buckets of rain :)
My neighbors decided to go play in the rain and I decided to stay dry and shoot them from a distance. I had a little fun playing with the brushes and filter to create this effect. Hopefully it's not too heavy handed but it was a fun and magical moment and I wanted the image to have that feeling too.
just soap in a purple bucket, and here is your personal galaxy !
