Gel pen on bubblejet print of an acrylic painting, approx. 130 x 130 mm.
A bit of meditative fun on top of one of my experimental acrylic backgrounds.

Dan's company was obviously willing to invest in the best back in 1993. He says, "we purchased this Canon BJ Notebook BN22 with built in Bubble Jet Printer in 1993. It was the first notebook PC to incorporate a printer."
Not only that, but one of these beauties even competed in a race with a reconstruction of Babbage's Difference Engine!

E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their "useful life." Computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled.
With the passage of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 , certain portions of the electronic waste stream are defined and the systems to recover and recycle them will be administratively regulated beyond the universal waste rules that apply to material handling. Please review CalRecycle's efforts to implement the Act for more information.

The pressure: it reaches the rest of us, overflowing. Take this offering, a little thing in green to mean we're hoping that it all subsides. Come back to us.
I've been having satori moments lately. Walking around, everything I see becomes some unreal, beautiful puzzle. The lonely, homeless man seems just another beautiful soul. There is no difference between him and I, or the sky for that matter. And so, walking along, my eyes fall in tears like this afternoon's rain, highlighting the pain and suffering of us all.

Put your fingers to your temples and imagine the batman dimension, and then pull something back from it into this dimension. Avoid the flames.
I have analyzed this device and found it seems to be some type of scanning recorder device, complete with high fidelity digital tape recording mechanism, with removable tape; multiple switches that make interesting sounds when pushed, and a bat sonar emitter.
The photograph was challenging. First, the device was elusive, and seemed only to show itself in the negative. Flames burned the edges of the negative which could only be printed without light (digitally to a bubblejet printer). I rephotographed the paper negative on a white background before the negative imploded (it was trying to crumple itself into a ball). And then the final image was inverted to reveal a positive image of the device. What a hassle! The scorch marks around the edges turned a snowy white, and the orange flame marks turned a nice shade of blue.

I should mention that the gear on the motor is a small one. This happened to be fixed to a bigger gear that you see from this side. Logically a small gear driving a bigger one will slow down motion. The gears are from an old bubblejet printer and adding that meant moving the pully belt off to the side of the rail.
I have a Canon i255 printer up for adoption for church or ministry use. I have a Lexmark now and the original giver of this Canon wishes that it would keep on giving : ).

Escape from reality. Distressed paper bubblejet negative, rephotographed, inverted, reprinted, burned and rephotographed.
Challenge book #3 - Texture
The cover on this book is a sandwich of fabric and cotton quilt batting. The text and photo were printed with an inkjet printer on cotton muslin that had been treated with Bubblejet set. Then applied onto the cover with extra batting underneath to make them stand out. For texture I did freeform quilting with the sewing machine.
The size is approx. 10"x7". The insides are made from hand torn Fabriano Uno paper. The book is glued into the cover and there are no extra endsheets. Just the last sheet of the book clock.
There is a pocket sewn onto the back. It was a bit of an afterthough so the sewing shows on the end sheet but add "character". :o)
After years of unhappy results with inkjets, I decided to try a "real name" printer. After much hemming and hawing, the Canon iP4000 stood out for its features and $129 price tag. It fits nicely in my work area, has five ink tanks and prints wonderfully.
Together with photo paper, I'm happy with the results for my usage. I'd still want to go to a professional printer for larger works, but for up to 8x10 prints and general colour copying, the quality is wonderful and the speed and silence are wonderful as well.
Am I happy? Oh baby, am I!
$79.99? Holy cow that's expensive1 You could get a decent Pentium computer and a bubblejet printer for that price and do much more!!!! Oh well, I guess this thing doesn't require power! Still, damn expensive... I would estimate $25 value on this thing.... ouch.

The legs of the Meat-Worker before they are cut out.
Basically printed on my home printer on matt bubblejet print card and glued onto styrene sheet. The cut out with a scalpel. This process was done mostly by me, however I had a bit of help from Mariko Oya, who cut out a lot of Robert's body parts.
Thanks Mariko.
A collaboration between my boyfriend, Nick, and me. He drew the gnome; I scanned the image & turned it into a lovely balsam-stuffed sachet.

no, this is not a "bubblejet". bubblejets don't have this three-hundred-pound solid metal Crunching Tower that flies across the table every time it prints a page. no, if this printer had a name, it'd probably be something like "BrokenNoseJet" or "BluntTraumaJet". from the ne-plus-ultra of williamsburg letterpresses -- coeur noir.
Found her in the park on my jog this morning. And so tame too, lol!
"Son, why are all the colour ink cartridges empty?" :-D
C's parents visited from Adelaide via USA, Europe, UK, Singapore for one night only. H had a good look at my new 'puter. The new bubblejet is on the left - it doesn't have a driver for the mac so I'll have to attach it to one of the windoze boxes to find out how much ink is left....
Layer 2 for Penni
I scanned the original, printed it onto Bubblejet treated cotton then cut out two pieces, slahed and frayed them, then glued them over the same area on the base. It doesn't show very well in the piccy, but this is quite "distressed" !!
Some things work better together. That’s why it makes sense to use Canon genuine inks, designed in harmony with Canon printers, to deliver the best possible results. The BCI-15 Black ink tank is designed specifically for the BubbleJet i70, BubbleJet i80 and PIXMA iP90 photo printer. The black ink tank contains pigment black ink, giving crisp black output for clearer, darker text. Canon’s emphasis on quality ensures professional results every time.
