Following the image of the BT Tower I added recently, I stepped back a little further (about 8 miles in fact!) to get another capture of it. The sight of so many cranes shows London is constantly evolving.
Anyone who frequents popular wildlife refuges, like Nisqually, knows there's a different crowd on weekends.
There are people taking photos for wedding invitations, others on pleasant family strolls, city-folk daring to rough it for a couple hours -- a whole mix of humanity.
It's time's like these when someone asks me what kind of little bird is that, when I say, "No idea."
Otra visita de la BT a la que me pude escapar, en este caso volviendo a Tarragona desde Martorell a su paso por Lavern.
Out for the day, practicing with the "new" camera.
I had to wander around a bit to find the "right" photo. This time of year, with a low sun, images can be a bit contrasty.

It is 118 metres tall and one of the few British towers built of reinforced concrete
This is the BT (British Telecom) facility at Whittington in Shropshire. "The site is the home of the UK's speaking clock. BT IT Services, headquartered at Barlborough in Derbyshire on the A616, have a main operation in the building.
It monitors network traffic on BT's network across the UK, including 0800, 0845 and 999 numbers. It monitors televotes provide by RIDE (Recorded Information Distribution Equipment).[3] RIDE is accessed via the SOAP protocol.[4]
At peak periods it implements call gapping load control. BT Wholesale controls its traffic from the site.
Every two minutes the site contacts around 700 of BT's telephone exchanges to find out how busy they are. 80% of BT's network consists of optical fibre." The centre has been under threat of closure for some time. Photograph taken (from the roadside!) on a Nikon F3 with a Nikon 200mm/f4 on Kodak Colorplus 200. I liked the way the (now dated) design epitomised last century techno architecture.

An empty hopper train curves off the main and heads into the Black Thunder Mine as one of the loadouts stands in the background. Black Thunder is one of the largest mines in the Powder River Basin, with three loadouts able to handle around 25 trains a day.
This train loadout is BT West. A conveyor system runs bituminous coal two miles from a crusher inside the mine up to the top of these silos where up to 35,000 tons of coal can be housed while waiting to be dumped into outbound trains.

The BT Runner is BlackTron's mobile operations center, capable of traveling large distances over really hilly terrain with it's 6x Independent Suspension!
The spacious cargo hold also has a convenient patented Speeder Sunroof (TM) for quick launch raids and Rover Ramp (TM) do do some buggy exploring.
Note: BT Runner should be in lowered position before deploying ramp, or risk catastrophic damage to rovers.
