Post number 11, counting down to number 3 of 13 images in the series based on a common inspiration - Life During Wartime by Talking Heads.
The sound of gunfire off in the distance Somewhere in BKLYN.
Washington Park is the name of the street, and it's right across from the very spacious Fort Greene Park where we went for the afternoon Halloween festivities. These beauties are about a hundred years old, have four floors and are worth in the millions of dollars...each floor sometimes a million or more. A lot different than the southern part of New Jersey where I live!
Brownstones in Boston's Back Bay, reflected in the lagoon along the esplanade.
With the Sony, I got a much wider angle than with the iPhone, which is nice for this scene. But I just snapped this one handheld, so it doesn't have the long exposure glassiness of the other shot. Which do you like better?
I also did more editing on the colors on this one, so I might have to further upload a similarly edited version of the iPhone shot for a fair comparison.

Brownstones in Boston's Back Bay. I'll have to go back here more often to try for different lighting, but even at dusk all the brownstones lined up together look kinda neat.
Another iPhone shot from Sunday - this one just shot in the built in camera app using HDR, and then edited in Lightroom Mobile.
I love this spot but now I'm kicking myself - I think I messed up the perspective and should have moved a little to the right to get better symmetry. Well, the problem is its not perfectly symmetric here no matter what you do, so its always a little frustrating.
I'll have to go back and try again next time the clouds look good! I'm also happy they finished construction on that building in the middle, it looks much better now.

Same street as the previous shot with the flowers. No colourful flower displays here, no children's boots made into flower pots.. nothing interesting :( Just some houses - and I find this interesting enough to snap a shot?! Am I a weirdo or what??
Not just take a shot but even process it twice, one for BW - who does this? :(
