This is Madge, who is mum to Banksy, Bubba and Boo. She currently lives with her daughter, Bubba and is my largest Lesser Tenrec at just over 200g. Over torpor, she lost weight, about 50g but she is still agile and likes to climb, such as this Broom here. Some of you will remember Madge from when she was photographed opening a miniature teapot. Her image was a big hit!

Old English bróm is from a common West Germanic *bráma- (Old High German brâmo, "bramble"), from a Germanic stem bræ̂m- of unknown origin, with an original sense of "thorny shrub" or similar. Use of the branches of these plants for sweeping gave rise to the term broom for sweeping tools in the 15th century, gradually replacing Old English besema (which survives as dialectal or archaic besom).[19]

tiny brooms smile tears,

both are floating,

Nach einer etwas längeren Pause bin ich wieder da :-) Allerdings werde ich wohl noch etwas brauchen, um nachzuholen was ich verpasst habe.

……Evening light on the Physocarpus down the garden - Broom providing a colourful blurry backdrop here, taken on my phone in Portrait mode and opened up to f2.8 and edited in Lightroom for ’Smile on Saturday’, the theme being "SMALL PART SHARP". Once again the phone has excelled in doing what I asked of it! HS😊S, Alan:-)

I took this shot in California at the old homestead of my cousin's family who immigrated from Italy to settle the area. I wonder how long this broom has been sitting on the back porch?
