My LEGO model of Rainbow Dash from 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic'. She contains approx. 3,700 parts.
I started this project over a year and a half ago. There were many times where I felt like giving up; designing her proved to be a huge challenge. My main expertise previously has been in building model trains. They tend to be covered in straight lines and right-angle corners. This is about as removed from that as you can get.
What kept me going was the encouragement I received from friends in the MLP fandom. Since LEGO models aren't common in that community, the novelty of the project seemed to be a good draw. Essentially, people wanted to see the finished thing just as much as me.
When I began the project, I set out a few objectives:
- She would be an accurate representation of how Rainbow appears in the cartoon, when viewed from all angles
- It would be obvious that she is made of LEGO
- She would be free standing
- She would have an exciting pose and expression to best represent her character, rather than looking like a lifeless statue
The fact that she is able to balance on just 2 legs is more of a fluke than anything else.

I've been thinking about doing My Little Pony in LEGO for a long time. But I didn't want to just create a 'role call' of the main characters. Plus most of them come in rather non-LEGO-friendly colors!
But then the stars aligned... My daughter and I watched the episode "Keep Calm And Flutter On" in which two polar opposites - Fluttershy and Discord - form an unexpected new friendship. Then I learned that the voice actors for both characters would be at Emerald City ComicCon this year. And since I'm already involved in the LEGO exhibit at this event, I knew what I had to do!
Perhaps Andrea Libman and John de Lancie will be kind enough to pose in front of these models with me, who knows?
I also have one other pony-themed surprise for the Emerald City convention-goers, to be revealed later in the week....
An abstract look into the future of The Journey, because don't worry, I haven't forgotten it. :D
Because I'm a Brony, I've decided to be obnoxious and make this image only decipherable by other Bronies. (and even then, it won't be easy) If you figure out what's going on here, try to keep it under your belt, please. I'll say no more!
On a side note and completely contradicting my last statement, I uploaded this so hastily because of a technique in the leg of the creature that I had built several weeks ago but had meant to withhold for several more weeks. This technique involves connecting a Batarang to a lever base. However, a few days ago I found a photo by djbricks, who had discovered the same technique but had beat me to the upload. In my paranoia, I have uploaded this prematurely to prove I didn't rip it off djbricks. :P

So if you didn't read the descriptions for my Ponypasta figures (in my Halloween album), you should know that I'm not a brony, but I also don't mind them. I like a lot people that are or formerly associate with the fandom, and I mostly like some of the fan songs, including (if you haven't guessed yet), The Discord song, originally by Eurobeat Odyssey, and reminxed by The Living Tombstone and CG5, I currently listen to a mashup of the 2 remixes. I also found out throuh some of the people I've watched that this guy is a humorous chaotic God, kind of like Bill Cipher and Aku, which is why I kind of like him more. Originally I was trying to figure out a way to make him brick built out of the pieces I had, or make some Equestrian Girls like version, but I figured that a simple minifigure scale version will do for now. He's basically mostly complete, just missing a tail, I had to get the hind legs from Bricklink, the wings I already got from a duplicate demon kid, just added some sculpting on one side, and painted both in different colors, and the head I sculpted, which was the most difficult thing to do for him. I absolutely love how he turned out.
Am I the only normal one in this entire squad?
Well, our orders were to track down the scum that blew the whole blasted highway up. I ordered everyone to split, so Dash and I looked for their leader Jannik, while Ben and Troy distracted the rest. Plowing down the smugglers was swift and easy. I have been in this war for a year and all I see are just battle droids, battle droids, and droids. We were commanded to take Jannik alive, so I ordered,
“Alright Dash, set for……um….”
“Love and tolerance?”
“Yes……………whatever that is.”
We spotted him in the distance, and then Rainbow Dash used his jetpack to hop onto broken pieces of the highway. Once I managed to keep up, Dash unleashed his eight barrels of friendship unto the smuggler, which caused Jannik to immediately scream,”PODOO!”
Jannik wasn’t harmed but as soon as he woke up all we heard was nonsense only Dash could understand, such as: “Rarity is the best pony!”
So fir those of you who are new, I'm not a Brony, I wouldn't consider myself a fan of MLP, however I am a fan of some of the fan content, mostly the songs, which includes Discord, Rainbow Factory, Stuck in Time, and Batty. I've also found a mild interest in some of the Ponypastas, I have a second one on the way, but first I decided to make this due to the popularity of this one, of course it would have been way to complicated and take way too long to try and make some pony figure, so she has a human form, think of it as an Equestrian Girls version. I gave her the detail of one crazy twitching eye because I felt it fit, she also of course has a cupcake that she may or may not have cooked someone in.

This is my entry to the 100 Piece Brick Built Figure Contest over on MOCpages. We could build whatever we wanted, it did not have to be humanoid, just a figure. Well after I realized I had way too many pieces in my still incomplete Mars Mission Macro Figure on the page to the right, I got the inspiration to build Nightmare Moon. I don't know what made me think of her, but after staying up all night and using 102 pieces, I created my entry.

So yeah, I'm bronying out right now; I'm sorry. Aviators is currently livestreaming and he is sharing some great music I don't have to watch the livestream to enjoy, so I decided to try and draw my Pony OC; MCLegobrony. I kind of copped out of the legs with the cloak; sue me. I haven't drawn anything in a long time so you know, I'm taking it easy.
I promise the next post from me anywhere will not be pony related. I know how sensitive you non-pony folk can be on the subject.
