In winter ice the ice on this part of Bronte Creek is regularly broken by waves coming in from Lake Ontario.

Bronte is so close to the CBD of Sydney and the views it has to offer are stunning...
I past this pretty waterfall on day of hiking high up on the desolate moors above the picturesque village of Haworth in West Yorkshire.
Whilst the flat light ruined any landscape shots it worked favourably in capturing this beautiful cascade.
"I intended to have written a line yesterday, but just as I was sitting down for that purpose, Arthur called to me to take a walk. We set off, not intending to go far; but though wild and cloudy it was fine in the morning; when we got about half-a-mile on the moors, Arthur suggested the idea of the waterfall; after the melted snow, he said it would be fine. I had often wished to see it in its winter power, so we walked on. It was fine indeed; a perfect torrent racing over the rocks, white and beautiful!"

Bronte Pool this morning - Spring 'officially' starts tomorrow here in Australia . This girl got caught in the wild surf this morning and she reminded me of Botticelli's painting - Primavera
Love the circular shape of Bronte Pool in the eastern suburbs of Syndey. On a cloudy day as swimmers do laps and occasionally stop to take in the view or a deep breath
The view from Top Withins on Haworth Moor on a beautiful day in January. Top Withins is associated with the novel Wuthering Heights.
Located in Haworth, West Yorkshire, home of the world famous novelists the Bronte sisters. The Bronte Cinema was opened in 1921. It is built in natural local stone and seating was provided at stalls and circle levels. Always independently operated, it closed on 29th July 1956 with Danny Kaye in “On the Riviera”. It is thought that the cinema was never equipped with CinemaScope.
The structure was subsequently converted into a warehouse.
Bronte Pool was closed this morning. Huge surf and high tide meant the water was very rough, even inside the pool.

A swimmer had braved the cold water to the extent that she floated but unusually, she floated with her head under the water.
