Interesting place to visit in Brixton UK

Pop Brixton is a temporary project that has turned disused land into a creative space for local, independent businesses. Come and discover South London’s most exciting start-ups working in food, retail, design, and social enterprise.

Pop Brixton is an original project that supports local jobs, training, and enterprise.

It is a community initiative founded by MakeShift, a team of socially-minded creators, makers, entrepreneurs, and doers who champion collaboration, drive progress and see it as their duty to bring prosperity to local communities through enterprise. MakeShift transformed a disused plot of land into a pioneering space that showcases the most exciting independent businesses from Brixton and Lambeth, providing a new destination that supports them to set up shop and share space, skills, and ideas.

There are certain places that I photograph again and again, this being one of them. I just love that taller building with the faded signage on it which advertises a long gone shoe retailer. It always makes me sad when these historic old signs are painted over but here at least it's still intact and as long as it is I'll probably return with a camera on a regular basis and shoot it again. There's probably a name for someone like me in that respect but let's not go there.

I'm mostly off Flickr these days as with the warm weather we've been having I'm busy with other things. Therefore I'm leaving comments turned off on this one.

After storm Arwen swept through the country the previous day, there where a number of VSTP RHTT paths produced the following morning from Tonbridge West Yard, which included this working.

I didn’t actually know which line this would be on after leaving London Victoria, but I took a gamble and set the pole up on the fast, to which luckily it ran on.

Here, a very clean pair of class 73/9 locomotive’s No.s 73962 Dick Mabbutt & classmate 73963 Janice are seen passing the Bon Marche building at Brixton on the 28th of November 2021, working the 09:05 3W01 RHTT working from Tonbridge West Yard to Tonbridge West Yard via London Victoria and Rochester.

Taken with the aid of a pole.

Famed and named for being one of the first streets in Britain to be lit by electricity, and the first street in Brixton to be lit by electricity. (This photo would be better at night when it's lit up)

Seen yesterday on a walk with June Purkiss and Joe O'Malley in Brixton. We were looking for street art but this is one of my favourite shots of the day. I just like the mix of colours, red, yellow and blue.
