This is Brisbane from Mt Coot-tha. I was fortunate enough to have fire crackers go off to the right of the frame, for this capture.
I love capturing my home town in the blue hour.
This location is one of many around the city to take such a capture. Different evening, different reflections in the water and a different shade of blue sky!
Brisbane, my home town.
This capture is looking at the city from Southbank that is across the Brisbane River. The city is much bigger than this capture shows. I will showcase more from different angles in due time.
The bridge is called the Victoria Bridge. Not as iconic and grand as the Story Bridge! They light up the both bridges the same colour each week On this evening, the Victoria Bridge was lit in beautiful teal.
A casino in Brisbane. I'm not sure why it's lit in red. Maybe it's supposed to symbolize hell;)?
Queensland, Australia.
Brisbane is also called River city. When I took some night shots, I realized why.
Brisbane, Queensland. Australia.
Brisbane is divided by the river Brisbane River, and therefore also called River City. The river flows into the Coral Sea in a few kilometres.
The city owes some beautiful bridges to the river, which were especially thankfull subjects for me at night:). In the middle you can see the Story Bridge.
Queensland. Australia. Nikon D810 + Laowa 12 mm f/2.8 Zero-D
An abstract shot from an early morning walk - this is an illuminated barrier post to keep cars out. Shot full-frame, I found it interesting
This is the view from my room. Overlooking Brisbane river with South Bank parklands and the new purpose-built government building on the right.
Thanks for looking, have a great week guys!
Must admit, I took a break from Flickr for a couple of days.
But anyways, this is the Wheel of Brisbane. Taken early in the morning, so that the lights were still on, which I think adds a bit more interest to the otherwise dark scene.
Thanks so much for all your faves and comments guys, really appreciate them! Have a great day!

A small promotion for Sonny Apple Cider "Brisbane's sunshine in a bottle" with the Story Bridge in the background.
On a walk with two other photographers who were into some serious late afternoon tripod-mounted shots in this section of the CBD, along the Brisbane River.
As this was taken with a telephoto lens, the Brisbane River cannot be seen in this image. In the centre, however, there are two structures, a white bridge, plus a wheel that is on the banks of the river.
In the background one can just see parts of Moreton Bay, the ultimate destination of our beautiful river.
Captured from the summit of Mt. Coot-tha.
In the 30+ years I have lived in Brisbane, I am amazed with images such as this at how much it has grown ... and come of age.
"Onwards and Upwards"
Australia really is a fantastic Country.
Today it’s cold and rainy, so this photo was not taken today but a couple of months ago. I love the fluffy clouds.
