I Loved the almost mirrored effect of these two guys in my garden! There was a simplicity that I really liked.
Almost a totally straight photo other than a little brightning on the sides. A touch of Photoshop magic was applied also.

Today Flickr Group Roulette invades the Haiku This Photo group. Haiku are usually written in three lines to equate to the three metrical phrases of a haiku that consist of five, seven, and five syllables. Some people say that a haiku is traditionaly thought of to represent nature and the seasons changing. I hate the winter and suffer from sad. but this time of year I love. I love when the trees turn orange and yellow and I love halloween. It is the most celebrated and anticipated time of year in my house, so you can understand my joy when all my flickr friends are starting to do halloween shots. The print I am holding is one of Jenn's. As I am in the process of brightning up my room I asked her if I could print this off to put up. Hopefully by the time Winter sets in my room will nice and bright and colourfull.

This is the view I see with my back toward the road. It becomes obvious now that there was once a house here. Whenever you see one very old tree and flowers, you can be sure there was once something there. There's evidence of two buildings in here. Both appeared to be burnouts.
This picture is not processed (it could have used a dab of brightning) and hung up 'as is'

Processed in Affinity from the in-camera jpeg.
Converted to mono in Silver Efex, carefully balancing brightness with reduction in structure to add smoothing.
Some selective brightning and darkening to add interest to the tone gradients. Slight dark burnt edges all around.
Light copper toning.
FInally back in AP sharpened with Unsharp Mask and removed some cobwebs and plaster imperfections.]

Dear friends, I am sorry not to visit your streams. I am a lttle stacked in work, and rest of the time, I am taking and taking photoes of spring flower (^.^;; No time even to brows and edit it (>_<)
Well, fortunately when I stopped at this garden in the center of Tokyo, last week, it was raining fairy hard. Nicest condition to watch spring garden it was. Cherries brightning over the rain screen, greens are much more shining in the rain, little visitors around (^_^) The regret was I brought smaller body which I do not know yet very well to controle, image quality is not good.
My small folding umbrella was over my camera so, I got soaking wet. After it, I have to spend 1.5 hours sitting at Starbucks in Roppongi, waiting for clothes to dry, a little shivering for the thirty minutes, until after-33-years reunion with uni classmates.
This garden was built in earller 17c, as part of residence of MIto Tokugawa family, one of three Shogun families. The area of the garden is about 7 ha (17 acre).

Brightning-up a rainy afternoon in West Sussex, GBRf Class 73/9 73961 -'Alison' had arrived at the small terminus at Littlehampton with the 10.37 Eastleigh Arlington to Eastleigh Arlington Network Rail service on February 15th 2022.
I was strolling in the park at Brightn yesterday and these men offered to share the sausages that they were cooking . I didn't fancy the sausages but asked if I could take their photo, and as you see they happily agreed!. My son was not so happy that I had wandered off to this area of the park but it was all very friendly and no problem!
Many thanks for the last year brightning up my days with your wonderful images!!!
I'd love to see more next year!!!

The Historic Columbia River Highway has a segment that runs between Mosier and The Dalles. It climbs out of Mosier, zigging zagging its way to Rowena Crest, from where it does a Rocky the Squirrel dive down to Mayer State Park. I captured this image about a half mile west of the Rowena Plateau, over which the Crest stands watch.
In the past, I have been loath to present color images with much alteration, but this one really deserved the full treatment. I used Photoshop’s HDR toning, and added a mild Orton Effect without brightning the layers first. This gave me the same tonal range as the original, but with more intensity.
