Balrog/Rancor Hybrid.
Started with a Rancor minifig and sculpted into a Balrog. By far the largest custom fig I’ve made, maybe not the most detailed though.

“Dracomata”
Drago means dragon in Latin, and I had to combine it with automata as this seems like some Victorian clockwork. This is a clip and bar build, with almost no studful connections.
~80 hours over two weeks.

Dwarf Longbeards of the “Grumbling Guard”
“Longbeards have fought in more wars, beaten more enemies and endured greater hardships than any young Dwarf can possibly imagine. They constantly grumble about how today's Goblins are far smaller and weedier than they used to be and how nothing is as well made as it was in their day. No young Dwarf, as hot-headed and tempestuous as he might be, would dare gainsay a Longbeard; after all, they have much more experience - and the beard to prove it!”
I built these guys over a year ago with some modified @brickwarriors, lego, and @greenstuff. Finally got around to painting them.

My wife and I had a blast joining all the Toy Photographers that came to this years Utah Toy Photo Safari. This shot was taken at Snow Canyon State Park near Ivins, Utah.
We hiked all over the redrock looking for spots to shoot. It was cool to see lots of folks lying around with camera gear and toys!

Hunkering down during the storm was a good idea - Jim saw many signs that a flash flood had recently rushed through the ravine. The smells of the desert come alive after rain. The sticky stifling heat becomes more bearable although the humidity tends to rise. The succulent plants soak up water from the drenched soil like a dry sponge; storing till the next rain.
