I loved this setup and was so scared I was going to flub the picture. Still working on making it better.
Most of the ice had already broken up. Two weeks before this picture was taken the entire river was ice.
This chart shows peak times for break ups on Facebook. It's just interesting what human nature shows.
Really the song is self-explanatory but me and the boy do not talk anymore..such is life...

This is a painting that I did early this spring in Alaska. It depics "breakup" the breakup and subsequent movement of the ice down the Chena River in Fairbanks. It is very exciting to see and hear, the many tonne blocks of ice rumble and bang, sounding like freight trains passing as they crash into one another!
I have been doing a lot of drawing and sketching since I've returned home to Japan. I really really, MUST, get around to take photos of my latest works and upload them to this site!! Sigh, I can be so lazy....

Looking up and across the Mose River 1053 am 2016 May 7th. No ice along shore, ice on sandbar and floating by.
On our third or so date we went ice skating. I complained the whole time, and we had our first PDA when waiting for my ankles to stop hurting so bad so we could return to the ice.
