Peschici, Gargano — September 2026.
This is what breakfast looks like when I’m in Peschici.
Nothing particularly sophisticated: biscuits, jam, fruit, the table still half in shadow… and the Adriatic quietly waiting in the background. The kind of view that makes even an ordinary breakfast feel slightly better than it has any right to.
I took this photograph because these small rituals are part of my Peschici just as much as beaches, sunsets and the old town. Waking up, stepping outside, sitting at this table and discovering what mood the sea is in that morning.
After so many years, I’ve developed a fairly strict routine here.
First breakfast. Then the Gargano.

Questa è la mia colazione quando sono a Peschici.
Niente di particolarmente sofisticato: biscotti, marmellata, frutta, il tavolo ancora mezzo in ombra… e l’Adriatico che se ne sta tranquillamente sullo sfondo. Quel genere di panorama capace di rendere una normalissima colazione un po’ migliore di quanto avrebbe diritto di essere.
Ho scattato questa fotografia perché anche questi piccoli rituali fanno parte della mia Peschici, esattamente come le spiagge, i tramonti e il centro storico. Svegliarsi, uscire fuori, sedersi a questo tavolo e scoprire di che umore è il mare quella mattina.
Dopo tanti anni, qui ho sviluppato una routine piuttosto rigorosa.
Prima la colazione. Poi il Gargano.

I did a lot of low viewpoint photo's when I was in London just after New Year so wanted to do something a little different for this weeks theme.
Now I'm not sure if I woke up hungry this morning but when I did, knew I wanted to do something with food for this weeks theme.
One boiled egg later, here we are, and the bonus about doing any kind of food photography is........... the snack that's ready the minute you finish.
I'm seeing some great images in the photo pool and love seeing everyone's interpretation of the themes.
Well, they were freshly baked on Sunday morning. Cinnamon Swirls, just before the were drizzled in icing.
We found these Pied Kingfishers by accident on Sunday. It was hubby's monthly ski boat fishing comp yesterday and we decided to try a different fishing spot on the bay. So glad we did as we got to see an Osprey, Giant Heron's, Pied Kingfishers, Egrets, Cormorants and Pelicans. The tide was out so I couldn't get as close as I would have liked but it was great to see such a variety of birdlife near the mangroves.
