Leaving the eggs out of the refrigerator and I before taking the stove, had an idea to photograph. Job with ambient light, and I confess to liked the result.

I'm not positive, but I think this might be a malva that's providing breakfast for its tiny visitor.

This is a common weekend breakfast at our home. Poached egg on bacon avocado toast with lemon pepper. Very tasty and hard to beat.
(Full disclosure: I accidentally over-cooked this egg, normally the yoke is runny… but it was still tasty!)

Breakfast of Champions or who gets there first, Skippy is enjoying his peanuts on a nice Spring day.
In my previous post I showed the Greater spotted woodpecker seeing off Starlings at breakfast time.
Today it came as I was starting my breakfast and the woodpecker became breakfast for the Sparrowhawk!
Tried hard not to burn my toast under the grill as I dashed upstairs to get the camera and change the lens.

A small cafe called 'Brown Sugar' in the Block Arcade in Melbourne. One of my regular haunts when i'm in Melbourne, but this time the coffee machine wasn't working ... imagine starting the day in Melbourne without a coffee?!! Let's hope they have it fixed before I return.
Upper Bad Call NW Scotland on our way North. We sat here on a picnic table and ate our breakfast cereal with mango, while an early Cuckoo shouted his call. What a spot, one to remember. The mountain far left is Suilven.

Kind of snowy breakfast for the calves this morning. Our winter storm arrived as advertised bringing ample amounts of snow and wind. The wind continues this morning, and now comes the cold...
Lens reflecting. My eyeglasses lying on the bench I'm sitting on. I'm fascinated by the curves and curls as they go in and out of focus.
Yesterday I was out much of the day ~ with camera ~ and took lots of pictures just for fun. Strictly speaking the pictures I'll post are not breakfast abstracts but I think that's going to be my name for images clearly abstracted from photographs, often macros like this one, and not otherwise created.

This is one of my all-time favourite breakfasts: Greek yogurt with blueberries and a drizzle of honey. The blueberries in the picture are special because they grew in my garden, and I picked them just before taking this picture. They still have their natural protective layer since I only gave them a quick rinse.

Today WAH are sharing breakfast and visiting Breakfast Bliss
Sunday breakfast is probably my favourite meal of the week. Today, sweet pepper and cheese omelette , bacon and English muffin. With the usual coffee and orange juice.
La fougasse de Ville de Saint-Gilles du Gard est une brioche glacée au sucre et levée à la fleur d'oranger. Autrefois, la fougasse était dégustée à Noël, et constituait l'un des 13 desserts🎄
😋 Aujourd'hui les gourmands s'en régalent toute l'année.

Ingrédients :
✅ 500g de farine
✅ 500g de sucre
✅ 3 œufs
✅ 250ml de crème fraîche épaisse
✅ 1 sachet de levure chimique
✅ 100ml de fleur d'oranger
✅ Beurre et sucre pour le glaçage
👩🍳 Mélangez tous les ingrédients au fouet.
La préparation est pâteuse mais se détend par la suite avec la fleur d'oranger.
Placez le tout sur une plaque de four avec du papier de cuisson.
Laissez cuire une quart d'heure à 200° (th 7). Lorsque vous obtenez une croûte, passez un morceau de beurre et saupoudrez de sucre.
Remettez jusqu'à cuisson finale, piquez pour vous assurer qu'elle est cuite à cœur.
Régalez-vous!

The Great Blue Heron would often take the struggling fish prey and wade into the shallow river's edge to kill and swallow it, presumably to make sure it could not get away. This individual seen here, however, had decided to fly off with the catch to the shallow to eat it.

It all began with two pelicans on a log. One was asleep, the other one was preening. Then a darter female landed on the log and woke up the pelican, which in turn chased the darter away. So she went fishing, Soon after a couple of dives she emerged with a fish skilfully speared with her beak. I thought that this was it. But what followed was a careful breakfast preparation, which included killing the fish, dropping it in water, diving again, bringing it back on the log and after it was properly positioned for swallowing, the breakfast was eaten.
Here the fish is taken out of water for the second time.
