in order to slightly correct the situation with the lack of black and white photographs - Petr & Alexander. freelance cabinet furniture assemblers in the collapsed as a result of perestroika of the USSR. new financial relationships, shortages of goods, used clothes from Europe, many Christian denominations from across the ocean and absolutely unsafe on the streets. A difficult time for life and a great time for black and white photography. Forgotten brands - "Svema", "Tasma", original film, not a Chinese analogue without silver, repackaged in a retro box.. real silver halide in photographic gelatin in film emulsion .. photochemistry plants and production of film cameras .. photographic paper "Slavich", "brome-portrait" ("Бром-портрет"), "Березка" ("Birch"), and desktop electric gloss-maker in a dark room.. incredible memories
I think this is one of the test films in preparation for this photo shoot in the Caucasus ( My budget is $100 maximum for a companion on my upcoming trip - a $50 camera and a $50 lens )

I don't like making the test with a "brick wall" view.

I love their brotherhood moments.
A little backstory. This was taken on our summer holidays by the lake. I liked the place from the moment we came. I watched where the sun would set. It was a valley and in the evenings a little mist would form there where the wood was kept. Finally the last day I was walking that road with my sons and the older one said he was tired and he does not want to walk any more. He sat down in the grass. I called my younger one to give him a helping hand :)

Anchang is a charmingly sleepy little waterside town northwest of Shaoxing that retains much of its original architecture. At Spring Festival, the Folk Customs Festival is the highlight of Anchang’s celebrations. This small town receives few foreign visitors and, other than at weekends and on major national holidays, not many Chinese, either. As yet unsullied by tourism, Anchang is a rare touristic treasure.

The subject of the original photograph was an altered t-shirt worn by a friend who was helping decorate my house. I loved the irony of the battle-of-the-sexes message "Boys Lie" separated across her chest, since that is often what boys lie about, or for!
I tried to limit the palette of tiles shots from my basement/garage, which we were setting up to be a photostudio, and which included disco balls, candles, mirrors, and colored lights.
these were two little boys begging for their picture to be taken. it was in a tiny village in santa lucia, cuba.
Gyan's new joints inspired (i think) by The Onion personals. Chrissy and Gyan got me to join up on that, it's kind of a waste of time.
Not great quality but I thought I'd post. We had some Typhoon weather here today and these guys were making the most of it.

William Alfred Cocks of Ryton [1892-1971]
Here are some boys in uniform, with their officers at the back, from the Boys Club that Cocks' ran from his own home. nd [1910]
William A Cocks of 18, St Mary's Terrace, Ryton, was a well known local watch and clock maker and a keen amateur archaeologist and photographer. His father, John Cocks was a Newcastle Bank official who wrote for the Hexham Courant as "Old Cross" for many years, and was closely involved with Ryton Congregational Church. William Cocks was also probably a member of the Church and recorded its activities.
