El faro boya. de la barra de San Vicente de la Barquera, se puede ver casi desde cualquier punto, en la misma Playa El Rosal o en la colindante y más pequeña playa del Tostadero.
Se trata de la típica baliza blanca pintado el primer piso en color rojo y aunque estuvo durante varios años en un mal estado en el que apenas se apreciaba ni que fuera el faro de señalización, por suerte lo repararon hace ya un par de años.
Justo detrás de este faro de señalización podemos ver completamente el puerto de San Vicente de la Barquera, y una de las mejores panorámicas que ofrece este faro o más bien podría incluso denominarse mirador natural es la vista de los Picos de Europa en su tramo de San Vicente de la Barquera.

The view from my campsite along BC's beautiful Boya Lake. My favorite camping spot on the Stewart-Cassiar highway. Regrettably only spent one night here. I enjoyed one of the finest sunrises I've ever seen just before heading north for Alaska the next morning. Shots in comments.
The lake is noted for its colour and clarity. The bottom is composed of marl, a mixture of silt and shell fragments. The crystal clear waters and aqua-marine lake colour are a result of the light reflecting from the marl bottom, not glacial waters.

Su función consistía en la defensa del puerto de Ferrol, apoyado por los castillos de Nuestra Señora de La Palma y de San Martín, que se encontraban en la orilla opuesta de la ría (orilla sur). Entre este último castillo y el castillo de San Felipe se tendía una cadena en caso de ataque enemigo para evitar la entrada de sus navíos en la ría.
En 1588, debido a un temporal, parte de las naves que formaban la Gran Armada de Felipe II buscó refugio en la bahía de Ferrol.
Tras la derrota inglesa en 1800, Napoleón lo celebró con la frase: "por los valientes ferrolanos". Este ataque demostró que lo eficaz, más que el castillo propiamente dicho, había sido el diseño de unas fortificaciones que, además de bloquear completamente el paso de las armadas enemigas, permitían una defensa en la que se apoyaban entre sí

On our Northern British Columbia, Yukon, and Alaska road trip adventure, we stopped at beautiful Tā Ch’ilā Provincial Park for a picnic lunch. We wandered around the park campground, taking in the awesome views of the lake. Boya Lake is one of the few lakes in the north that is warm enough for swimming. The bottom is composed of marl, a mixture of silt and shell fragments. The crystal clear waters and aquamarine lake colour are a result of the light reflecting from the marl bottom.
