Mead is often drunk from the drinking horn

It is made by guessing honey and water.

It is also called honey wine

Nina bought me a succlent plant last year and it is going to be covered in flowers very soon.

I bought a used Sigma 400mm the other week as that's almost 6 months without a big zoom will probably sell it when new one comes, popped out to try it on the lambs a fairly big crop on these too.

Lesson learnt never get rid off your lens until you get your new one. 😀

Today is an orange day at Color my world Daily and the theme at Crazy Tuesday is wet. Which is just awesome since Mr. Teddy Bear is with us to celebrate Happy Teddy Bear Tuesdays, and he just got caught in a rain. Luckily for him, he had his umbrella with him. The clouds just seemed to follow him everywhere but he manage to keep himself dry. But as you can see, the beautiful apple he bought for Princess is all wet. It is a well known fact, that wet apples taste the best… especially if they were under a summer rain… Which will not happen to me very soon, living in Montreal all I can have right now it is an apple covered in snow… and if it is still on a tree it will probably be all rotten by now.

In Mr. Teddy Bear world summer is endless so we don’t have to worry about rotten apples …

I bought myself some roses a couple of weeks ago for shooting pics indoors. I noticed while I was finishing and picking up my stuff that I accidentally brushed these onto a chair. I think because they were never placed in water and they dried up so quickly in our very dry environment that they retained their color.

I bought this bee themed water jug from a craft potter called Berber Dister based in the idyllic village of Cromarty on the Black Isle just north of Inverness. The artist had made her mark on the base and I'm hoping that one day it will rival Clarise Cliff's work for value. We are allow dreams.

OK, I bought this used Canon 50D in preparedness of my trusty old 20D to die (don't tell it though, it's been a faithful companion for around 17 years, and still clicking away!) Why a 50D you may ask...it's a 2008 camera! Well, for starters, it's 3 generations newer than my 20D, twice the megapixels, has a larger LCD screen in the back, ergonomically it's very identical to the 20D, and it still has that wonderful magnesium alloy body that went away after the 50D. So, I made up my mind that a 50D would be my replacement of choice. And now the great part, it only has around 47xx clicks on the shutter and it cost me a whopping $189 dollars. To look at it, you would say it looks brand new. (bought it from MPB)

Of course, new looking is great, but I had to do some tests with both my fast Tamron lens (above shot) and with my Canon 24-105L. So far, things are looking good!

And BTW, the produce above is from our garden and the larger eggplant in the back was eggplant parmigiana, tonight's dinner!

I bought a little hot shoe astrotracer for my camera and thought I would try it out before I find a real Milky Way to shoot.

It moves the sensor in the camera using a GPS signal and moves the sensor along with the movement of the stars allowing for long exposures without star trails. This way you can lower the ISO on the camera to prevent noise. It seemed to work pretty well but does blur the foreground so that needed to be masked in separately.

I thought I would do some light painting of the tree so you could actually see it.

I bought a mixed bouquet of flowers, five stems of different small chrysanthemums. There was only the one, like the one nobody wanted and yet so colourful, 'tainted' with a red brush? Well it looked a bit sad, but I saw the beauty in it.

I immortalised it. Beauty forever!

These are the biggest, but still of the small variety.

So, more challenges and light exercises from the studio, I stood on a ladder to take these. Yes... risking life and limb to bring you the best images, heeeeeeeeee

i bought this toothbrush holder that was pretty gross...and after cleaning it up and polishing it, i had to question how anyone could use it. stainless steel would show every drop of water and other stuff (ick) every time it was used unless the toothbrush was thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and dried! conclusion: poor design and a way to make an ocd person positively bonkers. solution: stick a marble in it.

Horace recently bought a new car, yet after only a couple of days he was experiencing a problem with it, he was furious so he took it back to the dealer.🐷🚗👹

One of the technicians came out and asked what the problem was, Horace said it won’t go past 70 up our hill, the technician said what’s wrong with that, Horace said I live at 83.

I bought Linus a replacement feather for his feather toy today but he isn't impressed by the colour to say the least. You can see the sad remains of the old feather behind him and yes, it looks different, but I really liked the green ones when I saw them in the shop today. Linus says that I need an appointment with an ophthalmologist and he wants to choose the next feathers himself. Such a decision requires an expert in BIRDS ! The feathers are chicken feathers and thinking about it I have to admit that I haven't met a neon green chicken yet.....

We bought a one litre bottle of industrial window cleaner to dilute as required. It has sat on my window sill, in the sunshine, for a while.....unused! But today as I sat, bored, working from home and thinking of Macro Mondays, I noticed the condensation in the neck of the plastic bottle. The theme is "Fill the Frame" so I photographed this section which is only 3 cm tall. The bubbles are on the other side of the plastic.... Oh, and I flipped it vertically

We bought Junior a exersaucer. He's still a bit young to play in it but we sometimes prop him up and he enjoys looking at all the toys it contains. In this photo I get the feeling he was checking to see if he had any telekinesis powers :-)

I bought a bunch of these yellow flowers last week. I tried to photograph them yesterday but they're surprisingly difficult to capture, at least the way I wanted to. I ended up attaching all my extension tubes to my macro lens and was rewarded with this really closeup view of the anthers

I bought this barrel to make a mini pond, however it had a temporary role as dog wash tub for Olive & Margo, Evie does not fit :) She had the watering can instead. Several buckets & watering can's of warm water & everyone was clean. A long walk through fields & along the river resulted in the above lol.

I bought a mug duo. One said naughty and the other nice. I bought them with the assumption that I would have the nice cup. My husband had other ideas. Apparently he thinks I am the one to get coal for Christmas this year. HAHA

Bought a few boxes of wild flower seeds for my garden & they have been amazing. Still flowering & new species keep appearing weekly.

Unfortunately I can't name most of them.

I bought a single gerbera flower today and wasn't sure what to do with it!

I placed a torch underneath the petals and took the photo from above looking down and liked the backlit effect. Here I have cropped it so that you can only see the corner. I was hoping to show the details of the petals as the light was shining through them.

I must have overexposed the image when taking the photo though because the colours are incredibly bright despite having reduced the saturation quite a lot; because of this, I'm not sure it works but have posted it anyway!

I bought this bird house ornament while visiting Paso Robles wine region last week. Bought many bottles of wine, too, I will confess. That part of CA wine country has been spared from the devastating fires further north, that have hit Sonoma and Napa Valley. Wine prices will definitely be going up soon.

Bought some Flowers at Costco yesterday.

I bought this plant at the gardening show on Thursday. One of the reasons why I chose it was its name, it's called "catsfoot" and the flowers do really look like tiny cat paws. The fish planter is new too but was an internet purchase. Plant and planter are usually in the garden and I only took them indoors for a photo as it is raining.

I bought a set of spikes and set out for Edith Creek yesterday. As it turns out, I needed snow shoes! Sank to my knees in snow several times before I wised up and turned around and spent the afternoon watching kids sled down the mountain above Paradise Lodge. Oh to be young again. They close the gate at Longmire at 5:00 so I had to bolt before the light got good, but just as you get to my least favorite stretch of road above the Nisqually this appeared before me. I didn't have chains on so Gertrude got a wee sideways as I shot to the pull off on the left. :-)

I bought this Navi XL Automatic to hopefully satisfy my craving for a luxury watch. The quality is decent for what it is. I planned on stopping buying watches but the itch must be scratched. I really wanted my next purchase to be a mid tier piece. The Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow, Planet Ocean, Aqua Terra, Rolex Air King and Panerai Luminor have been on my radar. We'll see what happens in the future...

Bought some more Cokin filters yesterday, (my others are in CZ!!), got up this morning nice and early and went up on to Rodborough Common, was rewarded with a stunning sunrise.......

Bought a packet of seeds in the spring, enough to fill about six tubs with clouds of tiny fragrant flowers. Sweet Alyssum fills the garden with a scent a bit like warm honey on a sunny afternoon. A winner with me and also loved by the insects.

Bought these from Hoodlem and I love 'em.

Bought as Warczewiczella amazonica, but the flower looks a bit different, so either it is a misshaped first flower or a hybrid/other species.

James bought us a yearly membership to NC Aquariums, including the one in Fort Fisher. We went there today. Shooting condtions are BAD like at most aquariums, but they did have really cute Asian Small-clawed Otters there. So fun to watch, but hard to capture. They have what apears to me hands with five fingers! They also have a rescued eagle named Maverick outside. We didn't see him at first when we approached his enclosure, it turned out he was right next to me on the other side of some chicken wire. Very exciting. Fascinating to see one up close - they are REALLY large! I have no idea about fish, but the one here was really fascinating to watch!

I bought a Nikon D850 this year, it cost me a arm and a leg but I have it..... and that's about it 😂. It is far superior to what gear I had so far, but... I don't use it any differently that I had so far... :| . Rather than investing money in a expensive camera I should had bought a better tripod ( I have good lenses I only need a 600 mm) and I should had invest in traveling or doing something else. I don't regret buying it... but since I have it is stays in the dark.I really hope I will have some time to travel a little bit, the place where I am is quite dull and I don't really like taking portraits or human related, and I should really learn to do better images and create my own style. Do you have any photo equipement that you bought but don't use?

I bought an e-bike and have been exploring the area with it ever since... What's great is that I can use it to go to places I've never been before - sometimes very close to my house. So I recently went on a tour around our village. In a pasture in the middle of a wooded area, I came across a beautiful flower garden along a dirt road. It had all the flowers that grow in our gardens - even Dalia - in the middle of nature. The farmer probably enjoys gardening.

I was thrilled - cycled home and got the camera. Back at the garden I realized that I had forgotten the tripod adapter - so I went back and went to the flowers again. To anyone who thinks that this is probably due to age, I have to reply that this has happened to me my entire life...argh!
