Here's one I took when Tony (Guy@Fawkes) and I visited Botany Bay (no, not in Australia) in the summer of 2018. This is in South Derbyshire, England. It's a lovely place with many lakes, wildflowers gracing the edges.

Still rainy and windy right now, so I went back into my archives and found this - couldn't resist painting it, naturally !

Many thanks, as always, for every fave and comment or just for looking.

A very busy summer schedule has kept me away from social media for a while, so it feels good to be able to post a new image again.

I came across this place completely by accident while trying to decide on a future international trip, and immediately knew that no matter where this place was located, I just had to photograph here. Now, this beautiful and unusual beach has instantly been added to my favorite places list. This is one of those locations I could easily photograph every day, for at least a month.

I will include all the details about this magical place in my next post.

Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby.

I took this in September while on a short vacation on Vancouver Island. We were staying in a cabin in Port Renfrew and it was pouring rain, but I wanted to go to Botany Bay. So even my camera was wearing a rain coat as we hiked in to the bay. Not much colour here with all the rain, but at least we made it there to see the natural beauty of the place. You will see there was another person there (the one with the umbrella).

It's still raining here too....

Only taken 4 days ago, but now like a dream - a memory to treasure, as autumn seems to have suddenly arrived, far too early. This is Botany Bay (no, not in Australia) ! This is South Derbyshire, England. Tony (Guy@Fawkes) and I had a few hours out together here. Several lovely lakes like this, a beautiful place. Hope you like the look of this as much as we did. There is a camping site just a few hundred yards down the road if you fancy it - there's a good cafe there.

So the seasons change... and this is the music which came to mind to go with this image. I hope you like it too - maybe even remember it if you're old enough !

Tony and I walked back from the lake we visited at Botany Bay and I shot this view down the forest path. It was magical...

Love this music too - it's one of my favourites ! Hope you like my picture and my choice of music too.

This is a few hundred yards from the furthest point from the sea in England. Landlocked but plenty of water around :o)

Hoping everyone and all my friends in Irma's path are taking cover and stay safe the next several days. The shift west has pushed me out of the direct path here in NC...but we're still expecting winds up to 50mph and probably 3-5" of rain.

For those up in the mountains...look up tonight/tomorrow night...sounds like the aurora was visible around Boone; so crazy!

Have a great weekend - stay safe!

Relaxed afternoon at the beach with Caroline.

This location always needs a long exposure.

This was only 2 seconds just to smooth the sea and capture the reflections in the wet sand.
