With its collection including over 22,000 species and cultivars, 10 exhibition greenhouses, some thirty thematic gardens, the Montreal Botanical Garden ranks among the largest and most beautiful in the world. It was founded in 1931 by Brother Marie-Victorin and the layout was designed by landscape architects Henry Teuscher and Frederick Gage Todd. It stretches over 75 hectares.
