In my hometown where i live in Worthing, West Sussex Boris has become quite a celebrity. He was bottle fed when he became lost from his mum so is so trusting and loving of humans. A few weeks ago Boris was attacked by a pair of dogs who inflicted some nasty injuries on him but luckily the farmer came back to witness the attack and save his life.
I promised when he recovered I would take his picture and here it is.
I couldnt be more pleased to get a shot of Boris being so happy :)

A huntsman spider, probably Heteropoda jugulans. Male and female huntsman spiders are similar in size with the males having longer legs and females slightly bigger bodies. Actually, I am not sure whether this is a male or female. Unlike many spiders, the males do not risk being eaten after mating. Some species of huntsman spiders live in colonies. Normally, huntsman spiders are nocturnal. However, this spider was out in the afternoon. It has eight eyes. The upper four appear closed. Perhaps it was squinting because of the bright light.
For the Macro Mondays theme "Inspired by a Song". The song I chose is "Boris the Spider" by the Who. Perhaps a slightly larger spider than the Who had in mind but definitely a little creepy. The spider was on a variegated bromeliad leaf in my garden and was left undisturbed after being photographed. Huntsman spiders can also be found indoors.
Macrophotography has made me appreciate what a diverse and fascinating group of animals that spiders are.

Nine years ago the then Mayor introduced a bus for London that was referred to as the 'Boris Bus'. Initially I thought these were great - a modern take on the old Routemaster. With nothing else to do I waited for up to an hour to ride these from Hackney to Victoria on the 38 - the only route to have them. Since then I have revised my opinion. Full of hot air (particularly in summer), they are unbearable. Important things (such as fares) can be dodged easily and the whole experience is not good. There must be a parallel here somewhere

My inside/outside cat. I worry about him when Boris is outside and I worry about myself when he's inside. Lol 😄 No just kidding, but he has damaged a TV of mine and broken a bunch of things around the house. Boris has two other homes that help share some of his mass destruction habits. It seems they kick him out after a few hours, and back to me he comes. I love these tuxedo kitties. Many people regard them as being twice as intelligent as an average feline. I don't do IQ tests on cats or dogs, so I'm not going to take a guess. They are admittedly quite bright! ❤🐱
Boris cuts it close because he resides somewhere under the front porch. I found him a hair too close to the front door. He still lives though I haven’t seen the Wolf Spider since this shot.

Boris back in the day wondering if he can get the old band back together. Since the sudden success of their first album (Bohemian Catsody), unfortunately some of the band members succumbed to catnip and after one wild night at the hotel a row broke out over the litter tray which culminated in food bowls being flung out of the hotel window into the pool below.
"We've since given up the nip and lead more mundane but healthy lives, apart from the occasional treat-fest, so a come-back is on the cards. Tootsie-fluff has gone off to India to find himself, so we'll need a new drummer, but otherwise it's looking good".

"Boris the Spider" was written after Entwistle had been out drinking with the Rolling Stones' bass guitarist, Bill Wyman. They were making up funny animals names when Entwistle came up with "Boris the Spider". The song was written by Entwistle in six minutes.

stressé et qu'il n'est pas rancunier non plus, ouf.
En rentrant de chez le vétérinaire (voir photo précédente en commentaire), je l'ai enfermé dans ma grange pendant une heure, histoire qu'il ne fonce pas dans une voiture dans un moment de panique. Mais à vrai dire quand j'ai ouvert la porte il a d'abord mangé et ensuite il est sorti calmement et est allé s'asseoir un peu plus haut dans la rue pour faire sa toilette ! On dirait bien que je n'ai pas perdu mon ami, à confirmer par la suite.
Well, it seems Boris isn't easily stressed and he doesn't hold a grudge either, phew.
When I got back from the vet (see previous photo in the comments), I locked him in my barn for an hour, so he wouldn't rush into a car in a moment of panic. But to tell the truth, when I opened the door, he ate first, then calmly came out and sat a little further up the road to groom himself! It seems I haven't lost my friend, but I'll have to confirm later.

Ouf, je n'avais pas vu Boris depuis dimanche mais il est revenu ce matin. Ca c'est lui il y a quelques jours attendant patiemment (bien plus que Chouette) que je remplisse les écuelles.

Phew, I hadn't seen Boris since Sunday, but he came back this morning. This is him a few days ago, patiently waiting (much more than Chouette) for me to fill the bowls.
