We got off the ship while it was still in the ocean, went down the gangplank to a catamaran, and took an excursion into Tracy Arm. What an incredible place of beauty! This is Sawyer Glacier, and I was amazed to capture it calfing. It makes quite a noise when the glacier breaks apart and falls to the ocean. If you zoom in, you'll see that those tiny black spots are birds, so you can get a sense of scale here. I was in awe of the blues everywhere, in the ice and in the water.
It was about 7C out, and with the wind chill, probably right at the freezing point.
Every time Tra saw a really bright light or heard a big boom noise she wigged out...(Post-Apoc Jitters_)

The sunset started with great promise but the light disappeared without much fanfare shortly after this photo was taken (November 13). The lake is frozen now although still unsafe to walk on ... quite a bit of frost this morning mixed with bright sunlight ... perhaps I'll grab my camera and see what's up in the forest. :)

Today's theme is Random Red, three shots where red is the signiificnt colour. This shot taken in Monterey, California; for me, the name of the yacht said it all.
She hasn't been feeling very good lately. She has some spinal issues (common with dachshunds) but is much better this week and isn't having to take any medication.

Wandelen in een bos (in de buurt van de Hilversumse hei) en dan deze bijzondere dode boom tegenkomen. Ik vind hem prachtig. Hij hoort eigenlijk in een sprookjesbos thuis.
