In a central and quiet location just a short walk from Thun's Old Town, the Freienhof is located on a small peninsula on the River Aare. Free WiFi is available.
Innovative Swiss and international cuisine can be enjoyed in the Freienhof's restaurant.
Guests benefit from the complimentary PanoramaCard Thunersee, which includes the free use of public transport and many reductions for attractions in the region.
It started in the 15th century, and is Thun’s oldest inn.
Tolerance is usually exercised to extraordinary degrees where the street cats are concerned. Here one is comfortably asleep on a restaurant table with the staff smiling on without concern. Manila, Philippines

The Booking Hall roof, Edinburgh Waverley station.
Waverley station was the collective name of three separate termini opened in 1846 and 1847, although the name only dates from the 1854 opening of the 'Waverley' route to Carlisle via Galashiels and Hawick.
The three independent stations were taken over by the North British Railway in 1866-68, were demolished and replaced by the current station. The dome seen here from below was added in 1897.
The station was designated as a Listed Building, Category A in 1991.

Built in 1870 by Eugène Jost, this recently renovated Belle-Époque hotel is located in the heart of Montreux on the shore of Lake Geneva and right across from Montreux Train Station. It offers a restaurant with a lake-view terrace and free WiFi in all areas.
All rooms at Grand Hôtel Suisse Majestic, Autograph Collection feature air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a minibar, and many of them have a balcony or a terrace.
The restaurant 45 Grill & Health offers seasonal, locally inspired cuisine and a wide selection of international and local wines. Guests can enjoy a cocktail at the bar, which features a terrace during summer and a winter garden in winter. A selection of cigars and fine spirits are offered in the cigar lounge.
A fitness room with hammam and sauna, a business corner and laundry services are also available to guests.
The train station of Montreux is just opposite the Grand Hôtel Suisse Majestic, and there is easy access by car as well. A few steps away you can find the steamboat landing stage, the congress centre and the shopping area.
Took an isolated shot of a mac laptop and then added a photo of a restaurant on the island of Mykonos, Greece and inserted the picture onto the screen. Happy holidays!
It can be hard to find new viewpoints in London. It helps when a new one is built. This is the new Roof Garden at 120 Fenchurch Street in the City of London. This was only opened in February 2019 and is right next to the cluster of towers by Lloyds and The Gherkin. Even better it is free, with as yet no pre-booking. There were no crowds yet as not too many have found out about it yet. The City of London local authority required the developers to provide a free public Roof Garden as a condition of planning consent, really sensible!
The location is Fen Court, 120 Fenchurch Street. It is a few blocks east from the Walkie Talkie building and it’s Sky Garden. This one is much lower at 15 storey’s. It is however fully open air and gives good mid level views round London. Apart from the nearby skyscrapers there are good views to St Pauls, The Tower, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf. The furthest building is the new Scalpel with a nearer building topped by the dishes. The shot was taken with a Sony A700 with a Tamron 18--200mm lens at 160mm. 3 images for HDR. The image was processed with Photomatix 6 using Fusion for a natural look. Topaz Clarity was used to add detail and then Topaz Denoise. More pop using unsharp mask 37 amount and 37 radius.

This collection of pictures just made me think of a secret garden - as my cousin pointed out, in one of those, she looks like she's 'pushing aside' the ivy to peer in....
All of the other action shots from the tennis courts have been of the blondes. Here Eva is showing that she can book it too. I like her movement and how much she looks like a puppy here, but the fence drives me a bit batty. She keeps to the periphery of the courts when we're there (apparently that is where the good smells are), so getting her without the fence is problematic at best.
Manningtree booking office closes for periods of time, but you can obtain tickets from the machine. Makes you wonder if some of these booking offices will close to save money with the drop in passenger numbers due to Corvid.
Our travel journey starts and ends with these people.
They have seen us through Europe, New Zealand and South America.
So when we happened upon their headquarters in Amsterdam I thought I'd take a shot for old times sake!
When our rental car broke down in Italy back in 2019 these guys were the only one's picking up the phone and helping!
More than happy to promote them!
