Dinosaur Bones - Horseshoe - March 13th, 2009
I finally got to see what makes Dinosaur Bones the most hyped-about band in Toronto at the moment when they played The Horseshoe for Canadian Music Fest.
As excited as I was to find possible human remains in the middle of nowhere (a clearing off a trail in the "Rhode Island desert".) the size of the bone got me wondering. Despite the bone being broken on both ends, my research is telling me that this is probably something along the lines of a deer fibula. I joined a bunch of bone ID groups that will hopefully reassure me that it's not someone's arm or whatever. For now, I have succeeded in making people genuinely concerned that I am in possession of murder evidence placed on the dinner table.
And make freakin' sure you think it through...cause it just may come true....

i was sitting in the sunshine when i noticed a dried hairball on the table, inside there were very small bones, a baby bird or mouse, i assume. Anyway they made a great photo, one of the series is taken with a penny coin to show the size. Shot with hand held reverse macro.
After years in the Thames, bone ends up looking much like wood. Whereas wood ends up looking much like bone.
Near the Antamina mine, paleontologist Carlos Vildoso Morales leads a tour of pre-historic bones and footprints. With support from Antamina, they are developing a dinosaur attraction.
