I found this tag lying on the pavement of a parking lot while taking my 82 year old mother on various errands this afternoon. It seemed a particularly amazing and charming find considering we have just edged into the New Year.

Every year the Easter show is held at Homebush bay. It has been years since I've been, and with my cousin over from Macao, the family decided to take a trip down memory lane... I must admit, the animals were cute, and I felt like a little kid patting and petting the farm animals...

I was tidying up my room when i found this on top of my cupboard. A wave of nostalgia came over me as I recalled the memories associated with that tin.
This simple DIY pinhole camera was made in J1, when our photog seniors requested us to bring a can tin painted with dull black paint on the inside for that meeting. We were brought to the dark room which i thought was creepy (because it was at the extreme corner of an ulu building), but it was just shockingly messy. Then we had to poke a hole at the bottom of the can and duct tape it on the outer side. Next came the fun part where we had to be in a completely dark surrounding (only with safelights turned on) to load the film. We pasted the delicate film on the cover with bluetag and covered the tin, which marked the completion of our not very sophisticated but rather cool camera :D
We were then told to find a nice scenery that we wanted to capture on the film. Prior to that, instructions were given of what to do before we excitedly scrambled off to each of our individual destinations to execute our tasks. I remembered holding my breath as I tried my best to steadily peel off the duct tape without moving the tin. After exposing it for 2mins or so, I taped it back and went back to the room to develop the film DIY! Haha it was fun. The number of liquid chemicals used was just horrifying and I was secretly afraid that my hands would erode away as i soaked that rectangular paper into various containers.
The eager anticipation of what would turn out kept my eyes glued to the film, but I was face with only disappointment when all that came out were only patches of dark images. Nevertheless, the seniors encouraged us to try again even though the film were a bit pricey, i think. And I screwed my 2nd film up again, but finally the happy me went home with a 3rd successful film. \o/
Good old memories(:
