Amphioctopus mototi live in tropical and subtropical waters. These octopuses are found mostly in the Pacific and Indian Oceans but some can also be found in the Atlantic.
They live on sandy bottoms, often where there are some coral heads or rubble. Deep lairs are excavated under coral heads or coral rubble. Lairs are surrounded by cast off gastropod shells which may have been collected for their secondary occupants, hermit crabs.
I have only encountered them during night dives so far.

The image shows two hypothetical exoplanets: Juvenia (a giant exoplanet with a violet atmostphere) and Bluering (a blue exoplanet with blue rings), seen from Aurora - one of Juvenia's moons. The brightest star just above the mountains' silhouettes is a supernova that illuminates a nearby nebula. The star of this solar system is not shown as it is located far behind Aurora. Another five Juvenians moons are also shown in the image.
Trying to get a fish to sit still long enough to get a decent photograph is extremely difficult :o)

Bleeding art in Bleeding Heart Yard by ATMA.
The red brings to mind the blood found on the cobbles after the death of Elizabeth Hatton. Her death is know as the legend of Bleeding Heart Yard.

The Shinkyo-bridge in the Japanese city of Nikko. It looks pretty awesome with it's red colors and the fall-colors on the trees and the foggy weather.
Nikko is a beautiful place on a 2 hour trainride from Tokyo, and it's known for some beautiful temples, which are enlisted on the Unesco list...

It has been a while since I posted my last ones....catching up now my friends.
This is one from my recent trip with Glen to Moreton Island where we were witnessing a great natural spectacle. Do I really need to say anything here.....just look at this landscape and soak it in. It is a large tidal pool where we enjoyed the silence and absence of civilisation.

Just love the natural red rock here, and the gentle waves on the red sand with lovely reflections of the rock.
