This shows around 1 mm of a match, so magnification is probably higher than 30:1 .

Challenged myself this weekend to do some water drop photography after seeing a photo of a water drop with a map behind it on FB. Process wasn't too hard but it did take some time to figure out how to get the hot spots from showing up. Finally decided to put the speed-light behind the map and it worked fine. Hope everyone on flickr is having a great weekend! :-)

Even the very early formation of the youngest blue-tiful Planet ever seen, light-years away from earth and our solar system, somewhere in the universe ….

Crystal clear morning along the Slana Slough at the foot of the Mentasta Mountains. 17°F this morning (-8°C). Ice has formed in the margins of the still water, and fresh snow graces the peaks.
Slana Slough is dotted with boggy islands, and permafrost keeps the water from percolating out.
Falls ich die nächsten Tage nicht aktiv bin, liegt es daran, dass wir kein Internet haben wegen Providerwechsel.
If I am not active the next days, it is because we have no Internet because we change the provider.
