The Super Blood Wolf Full Moon eclipse did not disappoint. It definitely was too cold to be out there trying to get pictures. Like -1 degrees. My camera did not like the cold either. I had a lot of rejects. This shot was taken as the Moon started to come out of the eclipse at 12:45 am EST, Jan. 21.

Early this morning, while I was taking shots of the Blood Moon an helicopter flew across it leaving some very visible light trails.

The brilliant hues of a blood moon come from the edges of the sun peeking around the periphery of the Earth, catching the atmosphere. It's essentially a global sunset shining on the moon, which has to be in just the right position to catch those rays.
The Blood Moon was visible on all or parts of the U.S.A.
The people of Europe, Africa and the Middle East were not able to see it.
This morning I got up very early to take some shots of the Moon, but the sky was somewhat cloudy and it was raining.
I went back to bed thinking that I was going to miss this event.
At around 6:00am my husband woke me up to tell me that the moon eclipse was very visible.
I quickly picked up my gear, went outdoors and starting to take several shots.
Here is a compilation of some of the shots that I have taken. The last to the right is the actual picture of the moon with the Valley in the foreground and it was taken at 6:28am at the end of the shooting.

Totality was gone and the sun was lighting up the moon once more, but clouds were rolling in quickly.
These were the last shots I made before turning into an ice lady with frozen fingers. I did not get the red moon to my great disappointment as I went in and fell asleep.
Getting up at four am and going to the lake with many photographers watching an event I will always remember.
Last Friday night I wanted to take an image of the lunar eclipse, but it wasn't visible in the valley where we live. Hence, we decided to drive up the hill next to our house and after waiting a few minutes the clouds moved and the moon emerged. Since we were pretty late I didn't catch the blood moon, but I'm happy that I got an image despite some troubles. First, I'm not yet very familiar with my new Sony A7II and changing settings took me longer than usual. Moreover, my cheap Tamron tele lens doesn't have a tripod collar which means that my ballhead was moving due to the front heavy weight. Anyway, I think it turned out reasonably well. Hope you like it!
