De Stokroos
Als de stokroos in de lente gezaaid wordt, vormt de plant dat jaar alleen blad en zal pas het volgende jaar bloeien. Zaait men de stokroos aan het einde van de zomer (augustus/september) dan kan de plant het jaar daarop in bloei staan, maar dat is afhankelijk van het weer, het kan ook een jaar langer duren. De stokroos vormt na de bloei naast de oude rozet nieuwe uitlopers. De oude stengel moet worden afgeknipt, anders kost dat de plant te veel energie.

The Hollyhock
If the hollyhock is sown in the spring, the plant will only form leaves that year and will not flower until the following year. If the hollyhock is sown at the end of summer (August/September), the plant can flower the following year, but that depends on the weather, it can also take a year longer. After flowering, the hollyhock forms new offshoots next to the old rosette. The old stem must be cut off, otherwise it will cost the plant too much energy.
