It took a lot out of me today to shoot this but I truly loved being outside exploring. There are to many days where I’m bed bound with this horrendous non stop illness I have. I cannot explain in words how much getting out with my camera can lift my mood at times. This shot wasn’t pre planned I just asked to get taken to an area I hadn’t been before and to stretch out in a new direction to explore. The light was beautiful as the sun was getting lower and it left me in awe of Mother Nature. If you actually zoom into my photo right hand side you will also be able to make out a ferry making it’s way across.
The Ermita de San Telmo (Chapel of Saint Telmo) raises at the top of a cliff over the Atlantic Ocean in the Basque village of Zumaia, in the north of Spain. Zumaia is a small fishermen’s town located in a scenic spot of the Atlantic coastline, and this simple yet charming chapel presides majestically over the beach of Itzurun. Several scenes of the TV show Game of Thrones, as well as of the Spanish blockbuster Ocho apellidos vascos (Eight Basque family names) were shot in this place.
Do you remember the story of the little E.T. ? Back in 1982 this movie has been a huge blockbuster!
Released on June 11, 1982, by Universal Pictures, E.T. was an immediate blockbuster, surpassing Star Wars to become the highest-grossing film of all time—a record it held for eleven years until Jurassic Park, another Spielberg film, surpassed it.

When menhaden are roiling the water of the bayou, even the Laughing Gulls--opportunists that they are--get in on the action. The title in this case refers to the oddly symmetrical, broken white square reflecting on the rippled surface of Mud Lake.
It might be the heatwave of 1976 but it was still fairly overcast on this summer Friday down at Liskeard in Cornwall.
Captured here is Brush class 47 no. 47123 rolling in to the station with an up train of Mark 1 carriages, destination unknown, but perhaps headed to South Wales seeing as the loco was (I think) Cardiff allocated at the time.
Anyhow, more interesting than the loco is the mail trolley neatly parked against the wall, with the centre-pivot semaphore signal above it. And walking down the platform, arms behind his back and confident of his position in life, looks to be the smartly dressed Station Master wearing the BR uniform of the day, complete with tie - no sign of an orange vest here.
On the fashion front, aside from the flares, what really stands out are those shiny platform boots - didn't we all own a pair of those at sometime or other - and am I the only one who can hear 'Blockbuster' by The Sweet playing in the background?

Mission: Impossible 7 locomotive crash scene in Derbyshire. The replica steam train is driven off the cliff for the final crash scene in Tom Crusie's latest blockbuster film. The locomotive flies through the air in spectacular style before crashing into the quarry below. The train was built specifically for the film & resembles a BR Britannia and has been named Le General Rive-Reine which relates to the 1964 war film 'The Train'.
A very difficult shot, with security and cliffs. So, this shot almost didn't happen. Months of planning and an 8-hour wait, I got the shot with a clear view.

Here's an oldie I recently dug up... certainly got my $$$ worth on this silver & black... Painted in 2001 on a major Highway... Ran clean until 2008. Seven years is a pretty good run. The spot looks like absolute SHIT these days. I guess I could go back and do it again, but that's an old chapter. Been there, done that.
A forested setting with bald cypress trees and knees while walking the Boardwalk Loop Trail. Light from the morning sun helped to add to the vibrant colors present. I was able to add to that by working with color control and control points to adjust saturation, contrast and brightness in Capture NX2.

I LOVE SOUTHALL!
We are promised, 'Most luxurious 3 screen cinema', showing all the latest Bollywood and
Lollywood blockbusters. It was once the very busy and popular Liberty (Lee-burr-tee, as pronounced in Lahore!) Cinema where I spent nearly every Sunday afternoon with my family watching all the latest releases; I distinctly remember watching Bobby, Pakeezah, and a few loud Pakistani Punjabi fillums here, as well as running up and down the stairs in the halls! The other two, both further down the road, were the Century and the Dominion cinemas.
All the shows were sold out, every weekend, and whole families would turn out. During
the Interval, we would always eat samosay and jalebi, and were always excited to drink Coke from a can. The current cinema was restored in the late 1990s for £3 million, and does a good trade since reopening in 2001, although nothing like the 1970s, where
there were crowds and crowds of cinema-goers thronging the pavements at show times.
I would definately recommend a visit to Southall if you're ever in town; there is fantastic shopping here for all things desi (not matched anywhere in London, not even in Green Street, imho), you can even speak to the shopkeepers in any desi language, Punjabi being the lingua-franca around here! There are numerous mouth-watering and unforgettable food places to eat, and ample places for you to worship, whether you are Muslim, Hindu, Sikh or Christian. And every religious day is celebrated with gusto, Eid, Diwali and Holi, and all the Gurus' birthdays. The Southall Mela draws hundreds every summer to Southall Park, as well as for Baisakhi and Basant celebrations. Parking and traffic is horrendous and rush-hour lasts all day long, seven days a-week. But, you are promised a total desi experience in the the west of London. It's not called Little India for nothing y'know!
The Adelaide Botanic Gardens has been hosting a blockbuster Dale Chihuly Glass Art Exhibition. Spectacular glass sculptures are set amongst the gardens and in various Conservatory Structures. This is the beautiful old Bicentennial Conservatory with blue glass and the modern Sapphire Star sculpture (2010) outside the entrance. The Dale Chihuly Glass Art Exhibition is ending tomorrow. I am sure it has been quite a drawcard for the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. I spent most of the long ANZAC weekend with a friend driving to and from Adelaide.
Dale Chihuly’s larger-than-life, hand-blown glass sculptures are vibrant and mesmerizing by day, and glow beautifully when lit at night. Adelaide is only the third botanic garden in the world to host this exhibition, following Kew Gardens in London and Gardens by the Bay in Singapore.

Aka; the first appearance of the modern Suicide Squad, which you may well know, is my favorite super-team of all time. After seeing Xenomorph79's shot of the line-up I realized it was one of the major Squads I hadn't completed yet, so I jumped onto that ship.
Flag has an updated torso/legs, and Floyd's toting the gun used to help bring down Brimstone, Boomerang has a bandoleer now, and Tiger is Tiger.
Enchantress however, has a CMF Wacky Witch hat that I painted green and black, and a scarf made from the CMF Judge's robes.
Now let's talk about Blockbuster. I knew if I was gonna make a Bigfig, it was gonna be him, cause I just couldn't find a way to represent him as a standard minifig that I actually like. I've never done a Bigfig before, but for my skills I feel like he turned out pretty okay. Face is a little wonky but, it is in the comics too, so I'm alright with that. Base is just a standard Hulk fig, and indeed he does have his trademark mullet, albeit just painted down his back because a sculptor I am not.
The paint used was Model Masters over a spray-on white primer base for both Blockbuster and Enchantress's hat.
Anyways, I'm stoked to have this classic line-up together at last.

Another blockbuster day of migration here in southern Ontario, even with the downpour of rain, at times the number of migrants (Kinglets - Ruby Crowned / Golden Crowned) were simply overwhelming which makes it impossible to lock onto one bird and get the shot. In between the madness I managed to grab a few frames of this Brown Creeper!

What I like about shooting in the city is that I always seem to capture a scene within a scene. My target was the beer delivery truck. Later, while looking at the photo I noticed that I'd caught two people, unaware of each other, going about their business.
My attention was initially drawn to the delivery guy who is mindfully doing his job. And then there's the woman running toward the bank like her hair is on fire -- probably frantic to get some money deposited before recent expenditures overdraw her checking account.
Strangers passing in the night. It wouldn't take much tweaking to create a storyline that could become one of the great chick flicks of all time -- steady beer truck delivery guy meets artistic fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants city girl -- think Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston. Or maybe thats already been done. Meanwhile, I have a hankering for a beer.
